Wait indicator Illuminated until the mattress is fully inflated (15 minutes). Alarm symbol Illuminated, with audible alarm, during Low Pressure, High Pressure, Pump Fault or Power Fail. Service indicator Illuminated after a set number of running hours, indicating the pump is ready for service. The pump continues to function normally while the Service indicator is on. Power (Fail) alarm indicator Illuminated, with audible alarm, when a mains power failure is detected. The alarm continues until the mains power is resumed or the Run/ Standby button is pressed to put the pump in Standby. If the power failure is prolonged, switch to Transport mode and disconnect the tubing. Mute button Press and hold 3 seconds to mute the audible alarm. The indicator is illuminated when the audible alarm is muted. Low Pressure indicator Illuminated, with audible alarm, when the pump detects low pressure in the mattress. Make sure the CPR control is closed, the tubeset is connected properly, and the mattress is set to Normal. Static button Press and hold 3 seconds to select Static mode. There is a tone and the indicator illuminates - the pump is in Static mode. Press and hold the button 3 seconds to return to Dynamic mode (alternating pressure). Pump Fault indicator Illuminated when an internal pump malfunction is detected. Call the Service Engineer. Comfort Control Firmer setting = turn clockwise Softer setting = turn counterclockwise Nimbus High Pressure indicator Illuminated, with audible alarm, when the pump detects high pressure in the mattress. Make sure the tubeset does not have kinks. Run/Standby button Press for Run mode; the indicator changes to green. Install mattress and pump 2 3 1 Place mattress on bed base, tubeset and CPR at foot end. Use the fastener straps to attach the mattress to moving parts of bed frame. Zip the protective cover over the mattress with the Arjo logo visible and located at the foot end. Make sure that all the Vent Valves are closed Closed Open 5 6 CPR 1 3 NORMAL TRANSPORT 2 FAST DEFLATE Attach the bed bracket to the bed frame, or place the pump underneath the bed. 4 Check that the transport control is set to Normal and the CPR control is closed and locked in position. 1 2 Connect the tubeset to the pump and the mattress. 8 7 Run the mains power cable along the side of the mattress securing the flap round the cable using the press studs. WARNING Mains power cable and tubeset must be positioned to avoid trip hazard, and be clear of moving bed mechanisms or other entrapment areas. Connect the mains power cable to the pump and to mains power outlet. 8 2 Inflate mattress 3 1 Press the Run/Standby button. Wait until the mattress is fully inflated. Once the Wait and Low Pressure indicators turn off, place the patient on the mattress in supine (face up) position. The default setting is Dynamic mode (alternating pressure). • CPR control closed and locked in position. • Transport control set to Normal. • All Vent Valves closed.
