Es: indirizzo 117 in notazione binaria: (MSB) 01110101 (LSB) (1 = pos. ON, 0 = pos. It is installed directly in the room to monitor temperature and humidity, and is ideal for retrofi t applications or sites where the infrastructure prevents cables from being laid. It transmits data on the temperature and humidity wirelessly to the Access Point using the ZigBee™ communication protocol; the Access Point is in turn connected to a CAREL supervisory system via Modbus® RTU over an RS485 serial link. The product may be sold in all EU countries. For all other countries, check the legislation in force with regards to the radio specifi cations. The SE system is not compatible with the rTM system. Installation • Warming: This device must be installed by qualifi ed personnel. • To open the probe proceed as shown (Fig. 2), while for assembly see Fig. 1: - the probe can be housed in a 3 gang switch box (built-in) using the 3.5x45 screws; - for wall-mounting, use the plugs (S5 + 3.5x45 screws); on metal walls, use the M3x25 screws. • Warning: to avoid damaging the sensor and the connections during assembly and avoid earthing the shield of the sensor, use the spacers (Fig. 1); the sensor and the metal protector must not be removed for installation. • Fasten the room sensor to the wall using the screws and plugs supplied. The instrument is battery-powered, and in normal operating conditions has an operating life of several years, in any case in proportion to the transmission parameter set. Before switching the instrument on, make sure the following instructions have been observed: • Set the dipswitches and assign an address between 16 and 126 (make sure not to set duplicate addresses on the same wireless network). The value, converted to binary notation, is set using the dipswitches, dip 8 = MSB, dip-1 = LSB. E.g.: address 117 in binary notation: (MSB) 01110101 (LSB) (1 = pos. ON, 0 = pos. Off ) Dipswitches 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1 0 1 0 1 1 1 0 • Insert the battery, making sure the polarity is correct. If the battery is already inserted, remove the isolator from the positive. Check that the LEDs come on for a few seconds; • To assign the sensor to an existing network, open the channel by pressing the button on the Access Point being connected to, and the LED L1 will start fl ashing quickly 0.25 s (see the documents on the Access Point for further information on how connect an instrument) and press button 1 on the sensor; • Pressing button 1 starts the procedure for checking the quality of the wireless signal between the Access Point and the probes. The sensor will be correctly assigned if after pressing the button L1 fl ashes once, followed by L1 and L2 in sequence, and by L3, which will indicate the quality of the wireless signal, when the Access Point is onlinee. • If the LEDs do not come on as described, is not connected to the Access Point network. • To reset the sensor, remove the battery, press the button and replace the battery. Wait for the LEDs to stop fl ashing and then press button (1) until the pairs of LEDs, L1-L3 and L2, fl ash alternately. The instrument has thus been disconnected from the existing network, to reconnect it repeat the operations described previously. The address can be changed by setting the dipswitches and then reconnecting the battery. Important: do not assign duplicate addresses to avoid problems over the NETWORK.. General warnings Danger of explosion if the incorrect type of battery is used. Dispose of used batteries in compliance with the standards in force. • Fasten the room sensor, considering that as the device being installed is a radio device, the following simple rules must be observed: – Avoid enclosing the appliance between two metal walls; – The effi ciency of radio transmission is reduced when there are obstacles, metal shelving or other objects that may block the reception of the wireless signals; – If the product is wall-mounted, fasten it to a masonry wall rather than a metal wall, to improve the range of the signal; – Remember that the best position is one where it is “visible” to the other devices (Access Points or Repeaters). It should be positioned in such a way as to minimise any obstacles; – Avoid installing the sensor near other electronic appliances, so as to avoid interference. • Do not install the instruments in environments with the following characteristics: – strong vibrations or knocks; – exposure to water sprays; – exposure to direct sunlight or the elements in general; if the appliance is used in a way that is not described by the manufacturer, the specifi ed level of protection may be aff ected. Operation The device monitors the conditions in the room without a wired connection. The temperature and humidity values are sent by the device at regular intervals (transmission time). Room sensor status The device has three LEDs (L1, L2, L3) that show information on operating status. The device also has a button for activating the binding process, for unbinding and for stimulating the device so as to force data transmission to the Access Point. Function Description Notes Behaviour on power-up L1, L2, L3 on for 2 seconds, then all three LEDs fl ash quickly for around half a second. When they stop fl ashing the device is in normal operation. Binding to Access Point Press (1) once; L1, L2 and L3 fl ash for around 5s, L1 and L1-L2 fl ash in sequence. Normal operation LEDs normally off . L1 on briefl y when acquiring the probe values and when sending data to the Access Point. L2 on briefl y when receiving a response from the Access Point. Reset Press (1) until L1, 2, 3 come on together, then L1-L3 and L2 fl ash alternately Operation valid only if sensor already connected and done within 20 s of start-up (inserting battery) Check connection/Data transmission Press (1) once after connected; L1 and L1-L2 fl ash in sequence. L3 indicates the quantity of the signal 1 = minimum; 2 = medium; 3 = excellent Operation valid only if the sensor is correctly connected to the Access Point /Router. L1, L2 and L3 fl ash for 1 min. It is installed directly in the room to monitor temperature and humidity, and is ideal for retrofit applications or sites where the infrastructure prevents cables from being laid. It transmits data on the temperature and humidity wirelessly to the Access Point using the ZigBee™ communication protocol; the Access Point is in turn connected to a CAREL supervisory system via Modbus® RTU over an RS485 serial link. The product may be sold in all EU countries. For all other countries, check the legislation in force with regards to the radio specifications. The SE system is not compatible with the rTM system. Installation • Warming: This device must be installed by qualified personnel. Off) Dipswitches 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1 0 1 0 1 1 1 0 • Insert the battery, making sure the polarity is correct. If the battery is already inserted, remove the isolator from the positive. Check that the LEDs come on for a few seconds; • To assign the sensor to an existing network, open the channel by pressing the button on the Access Point being connected to, and the LED L1 will start flashing quickly 0.25 s (see the documents on the Access Point for further information on how connect an instrument) and press button 1 on the sensor; • Pressing button 1 starts the procedure for checking the quality of the wireless signal between the Access Point and the probes. The sensor will be correctly assigned if after pressing the button L1 flashes once, followed by L1 and L2 in sequence, and by L3, which will indicate the quality of the wireless signal, when the Access Point is onlinee. • If the LEDs do not come on as described, is not connected to the Access Point network. • To reset the sensor, remove the battery, press the button and replace the battery. Wait for the LEDs to stop flashing and then press button (1) until the pairs of LEDs, L1-L3 and L2, flash alternately. • Fasten the room sensor, considering that as the device being installed is a radio device, the following simple rules must be observed: – Avoid enclosing the appliance between two metal walls; – The efficiency of radio transmission is reduced when there are obstacles, metal shelving or other objects that may block the reception of the wireless signals; – If the product is wall-mounted, fasten it to a masonry wall rather than a metal wall, to improve the range of the signal; – Remember that the best position is one where it is “visible” to the other devices (Access Points or Repeaters). It should be positioned in such a way as to minimise any obstacles; – Avoid installing the sensor near other electronic appliances, so as to avoid interference. • Do not install the instruments in environments with the following characteristics: – strong vibrations or knocks; – exposure to water sprays; – exposure to direct sunlight or the elements in general; if the appliance is used in a way that is not described by the manufacturer, the specified level of protection may be affected. Function Description Notes Behaviour on power-up L1, L2, L3 on for 2 seconds, then all three LEDs flash quickly for around half a second. When they stop flashing the device is in normal operation. Binding to Access Point Press (1) once; L1, L2 and L3 flash for around 5s, L1 and L1-L2 flash in sequence. Normal operation LEDs normally off. L1 on briefly when acquiring the probe values and when sending data to the Access Point. L2 on briefly when receiving a response from the Access Point. Reset Press (1) until L1, 2, 3 come on together, then L1-L3 and L2 flash alternately Operation valid only if sensor already connected and done within 20 s of start-up (inserting battery) Check connection/Data transmission Press (1) once after connected; L1 and L1-L2 flash in sequence. L3 indicates the quantity of the signal 1 = minimum; 2 = medium; 3 = excellent Operation valid only if the sensor is correctly connected to the Access Point /Router. L1, L2 and L3 flash for 1 min.
