399G322 Rev B 07 April 2020 FreeSpeak Edge™ is a member of Clear-Com’s FreeSpeak™ family of digital wireless intercom solutions. A FreeSpeak Edge battery charger (AC80) allows you to charge up to four FreeSpeak Edge beltpacks simultaneously. You can use it either as a drop-in charger for the whole beltpack, or you can charge separate beltpack Li-Ion batteries (BAT80) in the charging slots provided. The charger is a desktop unit. Installing the battery charger 1) Place the charger on a desktop or similar surface. 2) Connect the power supply to the power connector. For ease of use, install the power cable in the quick release sleeve as shown. Charging the beltpack 3) Insert either the beltpack containing the battery, or the battery itself into one of the recharging bays on the battery charger. A red LED indicates that the battery is charging. 4) If you are charging the battery while it is still in the beltpack battery compartment, an illuminated beltpack key (Talk key A) indicates the charging status. The table below shows the charging status conditions. Status indicator Status Talk key A or charger status LED red Charging Talk key A or charger status LED green Fully charged Beltpack screen Displays the charge status bar and the software version. 5) Wait until the charging LED turns from red to green. The battery is now fully charged. Charge time: • Battery in the beltpack – up to 5 hours • Battery only – up to 3.5 hours Note: If a beltpack is on when placed in the charger, when removed the RF is re-enabled and the beltpack attempts to reconnect to its previous system. 07 June 2021 PN: PUB-00017 Rev B A FreeSpeak Edge™ wireless system consists of: • Audio routing to and from beltpacks and other audio devices. • A Core Configuration Manager (CCM) to quickly operate and configure your FreeSpeak Edge system. • Up to 6 IP-based transceivers and up to 10 E1 transceivers provide coverage zones for beltpacks. • Up to 16 wireless beltpacks (FSE-BP50, FSII-BP-19, FSII-BP-24). • Up to two optional E1 transceiver splitters (FSII-SPL) that run up to five separate transceivers each. • Up to eight Dante ports. • Suitable headsets such as the Clear-Com CC-300-X4 that can be connected to the front panel to allow communication to the Central Station. Accessing the CCM 1. Power the FreeSpeak Edge Base Station and connect it to a network using the LAN1 port. 2. Use the Rotary controllers to navigate to: Menu>Networking>Management>IP Address. 3. In a web browser address field, enter the IP address from step 2. 3. Use the Rotary controllers to navigate through the menu system: Menu>Administration>CCM Access>Default Password. 5. In Login screen, enter your username (admin) and the default password from step 2. Connectors, controls and indicators Connecting transceivers You can connect up to 10 E1 transceivers using a splitter to the RJ45 E1 ports and 6 IPTs via one of the LAN ports. Connect your E1 transceivers to the FreeSpeak Edge Base Station using the RJ45 or Fiber E1 connectors. 2. Connect your IP transceivers to the RJ45 or Fiber LAN connectors. 3. From the CCM, navigate to Hardware>Resources and select Add Resource. 4. Select IP Transceivers. 5.
