Preliminary Technical Specifications: The Electro-Voice® Xi-1153A/64F is a full-bandwidth, three- way, triamp system is designed for medium- to long-throw applications. The orientation of LF section and the mid- bass horn create a two-element line array that extends vertical pattern control to below 350 Hz. Using VBS (Vertical Beam Shaping) technology this benefit can be increased by another 20° to 40° of pattern control above 300 Hz. VBS uses filters to overlap the LF section bandpass with mid- bass bandpass. By carefully phase matching the acoustic response in the overlap region the vertical pattern control is dramatically improved. Frequency response on-axis is unaffected, while gain before feedback is increased by 10 to 15 dB for microphones located under the loudspeaker. Its high-frequency horn/driver section is rotatable to provide proper coverage for vertical or horizontal system installations. The low-frequency section is powered by a 15-inch driver (EVX-155) in a slot-loaded, closed box configuration suitable for moderately high sound pressure levels. When very high levels are desired we suggest augmenting with the Xi-1191A. For maximum low-frequency performance, combine in a four-way configuration. The DL12ST 12-inch, application-specific mid-bass driver features RMD™ and a 60° x 40° horn.
