The high-tech enclosure uses injection-molded high-impact polypropylene to make the ZX1i extremely durable. The enclosure geometry has been engineered to provide maximum rigidity and acoustic performance. The velocity compensated port design overcomes the limitation of many small cabinet loudspeakers and enables exceptional low-frequency response without vent noise. ZX1i installation is incredibly simple with the included QuickSAMTM mounting sys- tem. The QuickSAMTM is a unique, integrated mounting bracket which is virtually foolproof. It allows the installer to simply snap the speaker onto the bracket, then tighten it to the desired position. For array mounting, there is an optional array bracket kit available which allows multiple units to be mounted together for a variety of configurations. Zx1i uses a special circuit that when in transformer mode the network re-configures itself to a current actuated Hi-Pass filter at the transformer primary. It gently rolls ry. It gently rolls ry the higher (vocal) frequencies and the program continues without interruption. Low frequency current is limited through the transformer eliminating low frequency saturation. Automatic Saturation Compensation allows many speakers to be run on a distributed line with a 50Hz Hi-Pass filter before the amplifier, regardless of the number of speakers on the same line (the number of tapped watts cannot exceed the amplifier rating). With the same 50Hz Hi-Pass, 10 speakers on transformers will have the same full sound as a single speaker at 8 ohms. ˚ x 50˚ coverage for longer throw and cluster applications, 100˚ ˚ many distributed audio applications. An added benefit is horn rotation, allowing the ZX1i to be oriented either horizontally or vertically for complete coverage flexibility. The ZX1i molded polymer enclosure is inherently water resistant. The addition of a multilayer grille with hydrophobic cloth and weatherized components enable the ZX1i to perform under many environmental conditions. An optional weatherized input panel cover with a gland nut is available for additional protection. The ZX1i’ . sophis- ticated crossover network integrates it with the DH2005, a 1-inch voice coil true compression driver maximum output with extended frequency response. Full- bandwidth overload protection is provided for reliable, long term operation without audible effect. 1 Half Space Measurement. 2 IEC Pink Noise, 6 dB Crest Factor.

The addition of a multilayer grille and weatherized components enable the ZX1i to perform under many environmental conditions. An optional weatherized input panel cover with a glan nut is available for additional protection. T he ElectroVoice ZX1 family of speaker systems is truly an industry first. Never before has a single speaker design been so closely customized to a wide range of audio applications. Consisting of 8 distinct versions, a ZX1 model is available to fit the need whether it’s part of a portable PA for a local band or a large distributed sound system for a major audio installation. Delivering on this promise for fixed audio installations, the ZX1i model is the new standard of no compromise audio performance and versatility in an easy to install, lightweight and compact package. Finally, a compact high performance loudspeaker system designed exclusively for the professional contractor to use in dozens of different fixed installations. It doesn’t matter if your requirements are providing a compact sound reinforcement system in a church, a complex background music system in a sports bar or other high-energy environment or fill sound in a large auditorium, the ZX1i can solve the problem. The ZX1 line of speakers can be summed up in two words: C o m p a c t F l e x i b i l i t y F l e x i b i l i t y • Choice of two available coverage patterns with horn rotation feature • All “t” versions have an 8 ohm bypass position to allow low impedance operation P e r f o r m a n c e • True compression HF driver and 8” long throw woofer provide smooth and wide frequency response D e s i g n • Attractive ZX series family styling blends smoothly with EV EVID series speaker systems F a s t & S e c u r e I n s t a l l a t i o n • The EV exclusive QuickSAM mount system enables a more secure, faster installation experience • 4 pin Phoenix style connector with pass through terminals for quick and simple connections T h e C o m p l e t e Z X 1 F a m i l y The ZX1i is part of a complete compact speaker system product line with models for fixed installations distributed systems, portable PA and even musician vocal monitors. Each model incorporates a wide range of features to make the system attractive to every user. T h e E x c l u s i v e Q u i c k S A M ™ M o u n t i n g S y s t e m i s F a s t & S e c u r e The QuickSAM™ is a unique, integrated mounting bracket which is virtually foolproof. It allows the installer to simply “click” and snap the speaker onto the bracket then tighten it to the desired position A S C ™ – A u t o m a t i c S a t u r a t i o n C o m p e n s a t i o n P r o t e c t s Yo u r A m p l i f i e r A real problem with many high power 70/100v equipped speakers is their susceptibility to transformer saturation, especially at low frequencies. All “t” versions of the ZX1i loudspeaker incorporate our exclusive “ASC™” Automatic Saturation Compensation to address this problem. ASC™ is a unique circuit to adjust the characteristics of the transformer that the amplifier sees to create a “stable” load even at very high power levels. This feature virtually eliminates the possibility of the amplifier going into protect mode or worse yet even damaging the amplifier. The curve above shows the power draw of a conventional speaker and the ZX1i over the frequency spectrum. As you can see, the ZX1i provides a far more stable and gradual power curve to the amplifier even at the lowest frequencies. No “spikes” means no failed amplifiers! The ZX1i’s long excursion, high output 8" woofer with a weatherized treated cone delivers smooth low-frequency performance with exceptional reliability. A sophis- ticated crossover network integrates it with the DH2005, a 1.25” voice coil true compression driver for maximum output with extended frequency response. Full- bandwidth overload protection is provided for reliable, long term operation without audible effect. 1 Half Space Measurement. 2 IEC Pink Noise, 6 dB Crest Factor.
