www.hasselblad.com digital CAMERAS View Camera solutions Hasselblad Product Flash Sync Flash Sync Used with Electronic Shutter* Electronic Shutter with Full Control H3D, H3DII, H3DII-MS Yes Yes Yes CF, CF-MS Yes Yes Yes 503CWD, CFV Yes Yes No With digital photography it has become easier to work the tilt/shift mechanism of a view camera and hereby achieve a special photo- graphic expression. The digital solutions however, are still heavy to bring into the field, and controls to place the wanted focus correctly are not optimal. New ground breaking developments on the H3D camera system allow for direct tilt/shift work using the new HTS1.5 tilt/shift adapter, and the new HVC view camera adapter kit allows for classic view camera work both un-tethered and with new levels of focus control. *If using an electronic shutter via flash sync connections, please note it will NOT be possible to control shutter and aperture values from Phocus. View Camera Connectivity View Camera Connectivity All Hasselblad digital camera products can work with view cameras. Both the H3D camera products and the CF range of digital backs have a sophisticated interface, and allow micro-processor controlled connec- tions to electronic shutters for full control capture mode (single-shot, multi-shot) and of aperture, shutter and exposure. The remaining digital products are triggered by a simple flash sync connection. A summary is outlined in the table below. The digital capture unit of the H3D and the 503CWD camera products can be removed and mounted on a view camera platform. The CF/CF-MS/CFV digital back can also be mounted onto a view camera platform. Two options are available to physically attach the digital capture unit to the view camera. The first is known as a Live Video Adapter, as the only method of composing and focusing the image is done via the Live Video controls in Phocus. The second is the Sliding Adapter that allows use of a conventional ground glass screen for composition and the ability to then slide the back in place. These items are easily obtainable from third party suppliers. Please refer to links at the end of the Datasheet.

digital backs www.hasselblad.com 39 39 MS MS The Hasselblad CF line of digital backs offers 22 and 39 megapixel digital solutions with the Hasselblad ”I-adapter” open camera interface, and the ability to add true-color, Multi-shot capture. The CF backs bring a new level of flexibility to professional digital photographer, including the choice of storage media: CF card, 100GB Imagebank, or computer hard drive. All in all a level of flexibility which added to Hasselblad’s image quality expands the horizons of leading edge digital photography. Large format 48x36mm digital capture Today’s digital photography demands higher resolution, less noise, and improved compositional choice, all of which the CF backs provide. The sensors are 22 or 39 megapixels in size and they are both more than twice the physical size of today’s 35mm sensors. This means more and larger pixels, which ensures the highest possible image quality and moiré free color rendering without gra- dation break-ups - in even the most subtly lit surfaces. Multi-shot for still-life: the 4*Res upgrade option In a still-life studio environment you can increase the color resolu- tion of your captures by means of a unique Multi-shot technique controlled by the optional 4*Res module (patent pending). The result is maximum resolution and absolutely moiré free images. The CF can be upgraded to a CF-MS with the 4*Res module at any time. The CF-MS comes with the 4*Res module already built in. Working with multiple cameras By way of a simple 4-screw mounting plate, the CF is easily attached to most professional medium-format SLR cameras and view cameras on the market. This simple compatibility allows you to bring optimal digital capture to your existing cameras and lenses with the convenience of using only one digital back. Unique Hasselblad Natural Color Solution In the past, color management solutions have imposed limitations on professional digital photographers, because of the need to choose a specific color profile to suit a specific job in order to cap- ture various skin tones, metals, fabrics, flowers, etc. Hasselblad has helped solve this dilemma, with the development of a single powerful color profile to be used with its FlexColor imaging soft- ware. Working with the new Hasselblad Natural Color Solution (HNCS) enables you to produce outstanding and reliable out-of- the-box colors, with skin tones, specific product colors and other difficult tones reproduced easily and effectively. In order to support our new unique color system, we have developed a custom Hasselblad raw file format called 3FR RAW (3FR). The new 3F RAW file format is designed to ensure that images captured on Hasselblad digital products are quickly, effectively and safely stored on the chosen media. The file format includes lossless image compression, which reduces the required storage space by 33%. The 3FR file defines the colors in the Hasselblad RGB color space with its out-of-the- box quality, and applied in FlexColor it removes both the need for experimenting with different color profiles to obtain optimal colors and the need for selective color corrections. DNG workflow 3FR files can be converted into Adobe’s raw image format DNG (‘Digital NeGative’), bringing this new technology standard to the professional photographer for the first time. In order to opti- mize the colors of the DNG file format, conversion from the 3FR must take place through FlexColor. The DNG file format enables raw, compressed image files to be opened directly in Adobe Photoshop.Hasselblad image files carry a full set of metadata, including capture conditions, keywords and copyright, facilitat- ing workflow with image asset management solutions. IAA – helping you classify and select images Building on the success of its Audio Exposure Feedback technology, Hasselblad has created Instant Approval Archi- tecture (IAA), an enhanced set of feedback tools, designed to liberate the photographer from the selection process and to concentrate on the shoot. Audible and visible signals as well as recorded information in the file and in the file name all promote a quick and easy classification in the field or in the lab. Sorting becomes automatic, accessible and very fast, facilitating review- ing the best images for immediate client presentation.

lens adapters www.hasselblad.com H system CF lens adapter The new CF Lens Adapter for the H-System allows pho- tographers to use all Carl Zeiss C-Type lenses from the V-System on the H1 and new H1D digital camera. Integral processors for data conversion bridge the two systems to access a number of the H1-display and lens-control func- tions. The precision machined CF Lens Adapter weighs only 140 g/4.9 oz. and fits between the H1 or H1D body and the Zeiss lens. The automatic focusing system in the H1 and H1D digital camera can be used to guide the manual set- ting of focus through the use of the focus confirmation signal displayed in the viewfinder. Light is measured at full aperture with all lenses, which produces an aperture and shutter speed data display in the camera for the manual setting of the exposure. Owners of CFE version lenses receive an additional benefit as the preset aperture setting is automatically transferred to the camera. Shut- ter cocking is performed manually with all lenses and is quickly accomplished by an easily accessible lever on the side of the adapter. With the CF Lens Adapter, existing owners of the V-system are now able to transition to the H1 or H1D and still benefit from their investment in high-quality Zeiss lenses. This includes the specialty lenses, such as the 30mm CFi or 500mm CF, which are not available today in the H-System. For the digital photographer, Hasselblad offers additional flexibility in the form of the i-Adapter concept for the Ixpress camera back. With the Ixpress single-shot 96C, 132C or multi-shot 384C or 528C, photographers can make a single investment and use the camera back on both the V-System and H-System platforms through the use of interchangeable adapter plates. Together with the CF Lens Adapter, the photographer can freely choose between the camera and lens combination that makes the most sense for that job – with the peace of mind that comes from redundant back-up solutions. GENERAL data: Dimensions (W x H x D) 98 × 86 × 22 mm 3.9 × 3.4 × 0.9 in Weight 140 g / 4.9 oz 180 g / 6.3 oz (incl. covers) Compatibility All C-type lenses Document ID: 2004-10-29 - V1.0 Specification subject to change without notice.
