Unpacking • Remove the record player and rubber mat from the packaging and remove all packing material. Setting up and preparing the device • Place the device on an even and stable surface. • Turn the white transport braces on the turntable until you can remove them. Store them carefully. • Place the rubber mat on the turntable so that the spindle on the turntable pokes through the opening in the mat. • Remove the protective cap from the pick-up system by pulling it downwards. Connecting the device Audio connection The record player has an inbuilt preamplifier and can therefore be connected directly to the Line In / Aux input on a hi-fi system. • Connect the audio cable to the Line In / Aux input on your hi-fi system (red plug = right channel; white plug = left channel). USB port You will find information on connecting the record player to a PC in the section "Converting records to digital files". Mains connection • Connect the device by means of the mains plug to an easily accessible wall socket. Repositioning the driving belt Severe jolts (during transport, for example) may cause the record player’s driving belt to slip off. To put it back into position, do as follows: 1. Remove the mains plug from the wall socket. 2. Take the rubber mat off the turntable. 3. Turn the turntable to the position illustrated. 4. Pull the driving belt out slightly and place it on the drive wheel as shown in the illustration. Playing records To achieve the best quality when playing or converting your records to digital files you should observe the following information: • Check the stylus regularly. You can brush off fluff and small bits of dirt with a soft brush, brushing from the back to the front. For more stubborn dirt, add a little cleaning spirit to the brush. For information on how to change the stylus refer to "Changing the stylus". • Secure the tone arm and turntable when transporting the device.

For information and support, www.lenco.eu When using Windows 7 as operating system, the hard and software need to be configured in a different way than discribed in the instruction manual. This quick guide discribes how you need to instal the hard and software. Note: Minimal system requirements are Windows 7 Home Premium. 1. Connect the trurntable with the AC power outlet. 2. Connect the turntable with a USB socket on your computer and wait for several seconds until below pop-up screen appears. 3. Click on Close. 4. Click with the right mouse-button on the speaker icon (taskbar) and select Recording, below screen appears: 5. Click on Microphone USB-audiodevice. 6. Click on Properties. 7. Go to Tab Levels and slide the volume slider down to level 2 as shown in below example. 8. Go to Tab Advanced and select in the pull-down menu: 2 Channel, 16 bit, 44100 Hz (Cd-Quality). 9. Click on Apply, OK and OK again (now all programms are closed). 10. Insert the Audacity software CD into your disk drive or download free of charge new software via http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ . 11. Run the instalation as discribed instruction manual. 12. • Connect the turntable to the USB port of the PC (do not connect the red and white connectors to the PC, these must be connected to the line-in/AUX input of your hifi-system/amplifier ) • Install the Audacity software on the PC (follow the on-screen instructions) remark: when using Vista Professional, install the software as administrator • Launch the Audacity software. • In Audacity, select "Edit" in the menu bar, then select “preferences”. • In Audio I/O, select “USB audio Codec” in the pull-down menu (recording device) remark: if the turntable is connected to the USB port after launching the software, the “USB audio Codec” will not be available in the pull-down menu. • Highlight the second option under “Playthrough”. Playback of the recorded track can’t be heard: select the soundcard in the pulldown menu. Depending on the PC’s configuration, the soundcard can be different from the one shown on the image,. • As a test we recommend you to execute the following steps. • Play a record, in Audacity press the record button, a new “Track” will appear automatically. During recording you’ll see the Level meters blink. • Stop the recording where you want with the stop button • Press the play button to check the recorded part.
