The MR8 (Black) and MR8W (White) are a compact two-way speaker system designed for constant-impedance systems. The 8" carbon fiber woofer, in combination with a 1" titanium dome tweeter mounted on a 110° x 90° constant directivity horn, provide natural, smooth sound reproduction, ideal for use in business music systems, indoor/outdoor foreground/background music applications, and near-field monitoring. The passive crossover is designed to reduce heat dissipation and optimize the power response of the loudspeaker. Connections are made to recessed, gold plated banana terminals. The enclosure is constructed of high- density polystyrene, with integrated mounting points for use with the optional mounting hardware, and includes a protective perforated steel grille. 8. 8.8. 8. 8. Accessories Accessories Accessories Accessories Accessories – Install and use this Mackie Industrial product only with the accessories specified by the manufacturer or supplied with the product. Hearing loss Hearing loss Hearing loss Hearing loss Hearing loss - Exposure to high sound levels can cause permanent hearing loss. The sound pressure level which leads to hearing loss varies considerably from one person to another, and depends on the duration of exposure. The U.S. Government’s Occupational Safety and Healt Administration (OSHA) has established the maximum sound pressure levels that can be with stood without causing damage, which are shown in the table below. According to the OSHA regulations, any exposure over the maximum limits indicated in the table can reduce the hearing capacity of a person. To prevent potentially dangerous exposure to high sound pressure levels, anyone subjected to such levels must use suitable protection. When a Mackie Industrial product capable of producing high sound levels is being used, it is therefore necessary to wear ear plugs or protective earphones when the limits shown in the table are exceeded. Consult the specifications provided in the instruction manual to know the maximum sound pressure (SPL) the speaker is capable of producing. Monitor Series Compact Full-Range Speaker MR8 SPEAKER The MR8 is the result of extensive research in the development of new transducers and crossover design. The result is a product with exceptional fidel-ity, the ability to produce deep controlled bass and extended high frequencies without sacrificing efficiency. The low-frequency 8" driver's low-mass, carbon fiber diaphragm remains extremely rigid at high power levels, producing a more linear response and lower distortion. The cone is fitted with a durable foam surround and treated to resist moisture. The high- frequency section features a constant directivity horn with a built-in mechanical phase equalizer. The horn is driven by a Ferrofluid® cooled, 1" titanium dome tweeter. The system is nominally crossed over at 1.6kHz by a 12 dB/octave network, which uses markedly lower (than conventional) inductance values in series with the woofer. This design reduces sound delays associ- ated with high inductance values and provides excel- lent low frequency transient response. All components are housed in a vented enclosure formed from semi-expanded polystyrene foam that is extremely strong, lightweight and weather resistant. Threaded metal sockets are molded into the cabinet to facilitate quick, safe deployment of the MR8, as a single unit or in arrays, using specially designed accessory mounting hardware. The speaker system is available in black or white (MR8W). The MR8 is a part of Mackie Industrial’s Monitor Series, which includes two-way constant directivity, compact speakers in easily installed enclosures. This Mackie Industrial product is covered by an exclusive, one-time, NO FAULT repair policy in addition to a five year limited warranty. High Resolution Active Studio Monitor MR5 MR5 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 1. Read these instructions. 2. Keep these instructions. 3. Heed all warnings. 4. Follow all instructions. 5. Do not use this apparatus near water. 6. Clean only with dry cloth. Use a non-scratch cloth to protect the finish. 7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. 8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. 10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. 11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. 12. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over. 13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. 14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power- supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. 15. This apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing, and no object filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus. 16. Note that this apparatus is not completely disconnected from the AC mains service when the power switch is in the OFF position. 17. The MAINS plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, so the disconnect device shall remain readily operable. 18. Exposure to extremely high noise levels may cause permanent hearing loss. Individuals vary considerably in susceptibility to noise-induced hearing loss, but nearly everyone will lose some hearing if exposed to sufficiently intense noise for a period of time. The U.S. Government’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has specified the permissible noise level exposures shown in the following chart. According to OSHA, any exposure in excess of these permissible limits could result in some hearing loss. To ensure against potentially danger- ous exposure to high sound pressure levels, it is recommended that all persons exposed to equipment capable of producing high sound pres- sure levels use hearing protectors while the equipment is in operation. Ear plugs or protectors in the ear canals or over the ears must be worn when operating the equipment in order to prevent permanent hearing loss if exposure is in excess of the limits set forth here. Correct disposal of this product. This symbol indicates that this product should not be disposed of with your household waste, according to the WEEE Directive (2002/96/EC) and your national law. This product should be handed over to an authorized collection site for recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). Improper handling of this type of waste could have a possible negative impact on the environment and human health due to potentially hazardous substances that are generally associated with EEE. At the same time, your cooperation in the correct disposal of this product will contribute to the effective usage of natural resources. For more information about where you can drop off your waste equipment for recycling, please contact your local city office, waste authority, or your household waste disposal service.
