1 Open Enclosure 2 Install PCI card Remove slot cover. Install PCI card by gently, but firmly, pressing on the card until seated in the slot. Secure card with retaining screw. Replace and secure the lid with the thumbscrews. IMPORTANT: The maximum wattage provided to your PCI card is 45 watts. 3 Insert Host Card and Connect Cables 4 Power On CB1 Turn on power using the power switch on the rear of the enclosure. 5 Power On Computer It is important to power on Magma CB1 first and then the computer. This allows the computer BIOS to identify and assign resources appropriately. Magma CB1 will be transparent to your operating system. There is no software required for proper configuration; however your operating system may prompt for software or drivers required for the PCI Express card installed in CB1. Follow instructions included with your PCI Express card. ! For Desktop or Server Installation: Insert the Magma PCI Host Card into an available PCI slot in your computer. Secure with retaining screw. Insert the Magma ExpressCard module into the ExpressCard slot on your laptop computer. IMPORTANT: Be careful to connect cable correctly. Connect the power adapter and PCI cable at the rear of the expansion chassis. For Laptop Installation: Connect the other end of the PCI cable to the Magma ExpressCard module. The enclosure cover slides off for easy access to the internal PCI slot. The lid is secured with two thumbscrews.
