INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS—HWSTAT OPTIMUM VIBE PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSTAT The OPTIMUM VIBE - Model HWSTAT is a battery powered hard-wired programmable thermostat. It MUST be installed by a qualified person, in accordance with best practise and current IEE wiring regulations. Before programming, complete all set-up instructions. The control set - when configured for T.P.I. control - meets the UK Government BEIS Department’s criteria for Class IV control, contributing 2% towards energy efficiency of the system. The transmitter is battery-powered (2 x AAA alkaline) Installation procedure: thermostat location / positioning The thermostat should be located within the property bearing in mind the following requirements: The thermostat has an on-board temperature sensor, which it uses to detect ambient temperature, and calculates whether to send a demand or no-demand signal to the heating appliance. The thermostat should be located in a main living area, where it is visible, there is unrestricted air-flow but it is not unduly influenced by draughts or ex- traneous heat sources: radiator / direct sunlight / lamp— please refer to the diagrams below:  Thermostat / backplate - installation Remove the thermostat from the backplate by inserting a flat-bladed screwdriver into the recesses on the left– and right-hand sides and gently lever to release the backplate. Fit the backplate to the wall surface and connect wiring to the terminal block. See the wiring diagram on page 2. The thermostat controls a volt-free changeover switch. Standard heating appliance connections will be live feed / live return (mains or low voltage) to the two terminals marked COM and NO.

OPTIMUM VIBE PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSTAT - USER INSTRUCTIONS Transmitter and receiver display / controls Receiver operate the receiver manually switch the receiver on or off Temporary override using the UP and DOWN arrow icons. Whilst in program mode (display shows PRG in the top-right) , you can adjust the set temperature by touching the UP or DOWN arrows. This is a temporary override of the current temperature setting. The display will change from showing ‘ROOM’ and the current measured temperature, to showing ‘SET’ and the temperature that you are now setting. Five seconds after you have changed the temperature to the value you want for the time-being, the thermostat will ‘time-out’ and once again show ‘ROOM’ and the measured temperature. The heating will be switched ON or OFF according to the adjustment you have made. The programmed time / tem- perature setting will be restored with the next program entry in the memory. Permanent override—manual mode using the SET icon In the program run mode, touch the SET icon briefly to choose between Program mode (PRG) or manual mode (sun symbol ). In manual mode you can set a different temperature from the programme. Manual mode is a permanent selection which will only change if you touch the SET icon again. Program mode (PRG) runs the pro- grammed time & temperature sequence. Set the time & weekday: Insert the batteries with correct polarity. The screen will jump to time-setting mode. Or—during normal opera- tion, touch the SET icon for 5 seconds to go into time-setting mode. Using the UP and DOWN arrow icons you can set the current time—you must also set the weekday. Whether you change a value or not, touch the SET icon to confirm and move on to the next setting. Go back to run mode by pressing ON/OFF or BACK, or the VIBE will ‘time-out’ to run mode after about ten seconds.
