Getting started: The Plantronics Savi headset is ready to use with your computer and Microsoft® Office Communicator 2007. 1. Connect your Savi base to the computer. If this is the first time you are connecting, wait for the installation process to complete. Restart the computer if directed to do so. Configuring Office Communicator to always route call audio to the headset: 2. Click the drop down arrow icon in the upper left corner of the Office Communicator window. 3. Select the Tools option. 4. Then select Set Up Audio and Video. 5. The first screen will be Setup for Handset or Headset. Verify that your Plantronics headset is selected in the drop down menu. Click Next. 6. This screen is Setup for Speakers/Microphone or Speakerphone. Select Custom in the main drop down menu. 7. Make sure your Plantronics headset is listed as your speaker and microphone in the two drop down lists. 8. Click Next. 9. In the next screen, you will set the audio output for your sounds (for example: incoming call or new IM message alerts). We recommend that you use your PC speakers for this setting (if you have a sound card and speakers available). After making your selection click Finish. Note: USB configuration settings are unique for each USB port. If you connect the headset to a different port you will need to make these changes again to set behavior for that USB port. Savi W740/W740S has a WO2/WO2S base and a WH500/ WH500S headset. 1 Headset Customize and Charge 1 Connect battery. 2 Choose headset wearing style and use fit kit to assemble. Over-the-ear OR Over-the-head OR Behind-the-head 3 Attach charge cradle to base. 4 Plug one end of power supply into power jack on back of the base and other end into working power outlet. 5 To charge, dock headset in base, minimum of 20 minutes. NOTE This product has a replaceable battery. Use only the battery type supplied by Plantronics. 2 Desk Phone Connect and Call 1 Choose desk phone setup A, B, or C and connect cables. A Desk phone (standard) USE B Desk phone + HL10 lifter (sold separately) See user guide at plantronics.com/accessories USE C Desk phone + EHS cable (sold separately) See user guide at plantronics.com/accessories USE 2 While wearing headset, short press base desk phone button. NOTE If you don't have remote call control through a lifter (HL10) or cable (EHS), manually remove desk phone handset before each call. 3 If you do not hear a dial tone, open side panel and adjust middle configuration switch (A–G) until you do. Default setting A works for majority of desk phones. 4 Dial test call from desk phone. 5 End call by pressing headset call control button. 3 Mobile Connect and Call 1 Press down and hold Bluetooth pairing button (4 seconds) on Savi base until indicator LED flashes red and blue. 2 Place Bluetooth mobile phone into search mode. Select SAVI 7xx from the list of found devices. 3 If prompted by mobile phone, type 0000 as passcode. Bluetooth indicator LED on base will turn solid blue when base has an active connection with mobile phone. 4 While wearing headset, short press base mobile button. 5 Dial test call from mobile phone. 6 End call by pressing headset call control button. 4 Computer Connect and Call 1 Connect USB cable. 2 While wearing headset, short press base computer talk button. 3 Dial test call from computer softphone. 4 End call by pressing headset call control button.
