Functional description: The 2.4 GHz (gigahertz) technology makes it possible to transmit data over a short to medium distance wireless. A carrier wave with a frequency of 2.4 GHz is used to transmit the information to be conveyed. The principle can be compared to a mail deliverer carrying a letter. In this case, the mail deliverer is the 2.4 GHz carrier frequency, the letter is the information to be transmitted. The receiver fi lters the information out of the 2.4 GHz signal and analyses it. Information can be data for a weather station, music, pictures, etc. The frequency of 2.4 GHz is a free frequency, i.e. every manufacturer is allowed to use approved devices in this frequency range. 2. Reception problems can be recognise by: • No display of the transmitted data on the receiver unit. • Frequent failure of data transfer (display sometimes only shows dashes). 3. Reception problems may be caused by: a) Location • The walls and ceilings between transmitter and receiver are made of reinforced concrete; metal braiding is inside the ceiling or wall (e.g. lightweight wall with aluminium frame). • Mirrors or similar refl ecting surfaces are situated in direct proximity of transmitter or receiver. b) Interferences • Other 2.4 GHz devices are located in a range of 20 metres to your product. • Several transmitters installed next to each other (minimum distance approx. 2 m). • Electrical sources of interference are situated in direct proximity (minimum distance approx. 2-3 m) of sender and receiver (e.g. microwave ovens, TVs, computer or other household devices that are currently in use). 4. Checklist for problems: • Did you exactly follow the operating instructions? Please also observe page 37 in the oper- ating instructions (Adjusting of antenna). • Then (after successful check), try to fi nd the cause of the problem (e.g. by asking your neigh- bours if they are using similar products, or by examining the location of the product). • Change the location of the transmitter or of the receiver to determine the best transmission/ receiver connection.
