Unpack the RioVolt and all of its components. 2. Plug the AC Adapter (included) into the Power Port OR Remove the Battery Door and insert 2 AA Alkaline batteries (included) and replace the Battery Door. 3. Plug the 8 Function Remote Control into the Headphones & Remote Port. 4. Plug the Headphones into the Remote Control. 5. Slide Release Latch to open the RioVolt. 6. Insert a music or digital audio CD into the RioVolt. 7. Snap lid shut. 8. Press and hold the Play/Pause button on the Joypad to turn the RioVolt on. NOTE: If the RioVolt display does not light up and the unit demonstrates no activity, check the Hold Switch on the RioVolt and on the Remote Control to make sure they are in the OFF position.
