E6581169 - 1 - TOSVERT VF-A7/P7 The function manual of the parameter “F451” “F452” “F453” This manual is intended only to describe the typical operation and application of the product. The technical information contained in this manual does not guarantee the intellectual proprietary rights or other rights of, or grant a license to, the Toshiba Schneider Inverter Corporation or third parties, for the use of the technical information or of the product. © Toshiba Schneider Inverter Corporation 2003 All rights reserved. E6581169 - 2 - 1. Introduction Thank you for your purchase of our industrial inverter “TOSVERT VF-A7/P7”. This manual gives explanations of parameters “H, H, H” for the VF-A7/P7 inverter. 2. Functions In the case the inverter is applied to lifting machines (crane, hoist, etc.), these parameters are used for cooperation with the mechanical brake operation (H) and load falling prevention in winding up/down operation (H, H). 3. Function of parameter H H = 0 mode (standard) H = 1 mode (without speed cooperation) Operation frequency is controlled when torque limit is activated. Therefore, actual speed is controlled to follow the operation frequency always. Since the operation frequency is raised after torque declines with release of the mechanical brake, the time that the actual speed corresponds to the operation frequency is time lag in mechanical brake operation + acceleration time. When the inverter is used in combination with the mechanical brake of a lifting machine (crane, hoist, etc.), the load fall by torque reduction can be prevented by carrying out the shortest acceleration of the mechanical brake operation delay time. Moreover, this parameter raises response in inching operation in order to control the load not to slip down. Frequency [Hz] Time [s] Torque [N⋅m] Time [s] Torque limit level Actual speed When torque limit is not activated Operation frequency Time [s] Mechanical brake ON OFF (Released) Operation frequency becomes high ahead of torque limit even when it is activated. When torque declines with release of the mechanical brake, it is sustained at the limit level and actual speed is controlled to follow the operation frequency. This mode functions not only to prevent the load from falling but to raise response in inching operation. Frequency [Hz] Torque [N⋅m] Time [s] Torque limit level Actual speed (Acceleration rate is determined by torque limit.) Operation frequency Time [s] Time [s] Mechanical brake ON OFF (Released) Torque limit is sustained after the mechanical brake is released.

E6581228 TOSVERT VF-A7/P7 Instruction Manual for Parameter ・ (C)Toshiba Schneider Inverter Corporation 2003 All Rights Reserved. This manual is intended only to describe the typical operation and application of the product. The technical information contained in this manual does not guarantee the intellectual proprietary rights or other rights of, or grant a license to, the Toshiba Schneider Inverter Corporation or third parties, for the use of the technical information or of the product. E6581228 1.Introduction Thank you for purchasing the Toshiba industrial inverter "TOSVERT VF-A7/P7". This manual describes the functions of the and parameters for the inverter TOSVERT VF-A7/P7. 2. Function This parameter is used when there is a need to control the rush-current suppression resistor short-circuit relay (hereinafter referred to as the “rush-current suppression relay”) in the inverter, for example, for the passage of a current through a DC line or for the connection of the DC lines of multiple inverters. 3. Related parameters Vector control Title Communi cation No Function Adjustment range Min. unit (panel/ communication) Default setting Write during running Speed control Torque control Position control V/f Constant 0608 Relay injection timing for rush-current suppression 0.3~2.5 [s] 0.1/0.01 0.3 Enabled ●/● ●/● -/● ● 0609 Mode of rush-current suppression relay 0: Default 1: Interlocked with ST - 0 Enabled ●/● ●/● -/● ● Sensorless vector / Vector with sensor (● : valid, - : invalid) - 1 - E6581228 4. An example of the setting of (Relay injection timing for rush-current suppression) The capacitance of the smoothing capacitor in the main circuit and the initial charge time (time elapsed before the rush-current suppression relay) is activated vary depending on the capacity of the inverter. By default, the rush-current suppression relay is set so that it will operate 0.3 seconds after the completion of initial charge. If necessary, this time lag can be changed using parameter . When connecting the DC lines of multiple inverters with different capacities (especially 3.7 kW and less inverters), you should specify a long time lag (1 second or so) using to prevent the occurrence of the failure described below in inverters with DC lines through which a current is passed. Note 1: For 3.7 kW and less inverters, as well as 18.5 and 22 kW inverters, a current detector is provided in the position shown in the figure below. (*1) Note 2: When passing a current through the DC lines of 18.5 and 22 kW inverters, you need to provide a rush-current suppression circuit outside them, because the rush-current suppression circuit in each inverter is bypassed in this case. For any inverters other than the above, this parameter does not need to be adjusted. [An example of an overcurrent trip when power is turned on] 15kW 2.2kW RY1 RY2 If the main circuit of the small capacity (2.2 kW) inverter is electrically charged before that of the large capacity inverter (15 kW), and RY2 closes before RY1, a discharge current will flow from the capacitor in the main circuit of the 2.2 kW inverter because of a difference in charged voltage between the circuits, with the result that an overcurrent trip will occur. [An example of the prevention of this trip] Change the setting of parameter of the small capacity inverter (2.2 kW) from 0.3 (default) to 1. About parameter (Mode of rush-current suppression relay) The rush-current suppression relay usually operates under the conditions shown below, but if necessary, you can add the ON/OFF status of the ST terminal (standby signal) of the inverter to the relay activation conditions, using parameter . [ = 0 (default)] The rush-current suppression relay operates with the time lag set with after the voltage in the DC section of the inverter has reached the specified voltage. Notice to Users INDUSTRIAL CONTROL COMMUNICATIONS, INC.’S PRODUCTS ARE NOT AUTHORIZED FOR USE AS CRITICAL COMPONENTS IN LIFE-SUPPORT DEVICES OR SYSTEMS. Life-support devices or systems are devices or systems intended to sustain life, and whose failure to perform, when properly used in accordance with instructions for use provided in the labeling and user's manual, can be reasonably expected to result in significant injury. No complex software or hardware system is perfect. Bugs may always be present in a system of any size. In order to prevent danger to life or property, it is the responsibility of the system designer to incorporate redundant protective mechanisms appropriate to the risk involved. 3 Usage Precautions • Please use the ETH-100 only when the ambient temperature of the environment into which the ETH-100 is installed is within the following specified temperature limits: Operation: -10 ∼ +50°C (+14 ∼ +122°F) Storage: -40 ∼ +85°C (-40 ∼ +185°F) • Avoid installation locations that may be subjected to large shocks or vibrations. • Avoid installation locations that may be subjected to rapid changes in temperature or humidity. Operating Environment • Do not touch charged parts of the drive such as the terminal block while the drive’s CHARGE lamp is lit. A charge will still be present in the drive’s internal electrolytic capacitors, and therefore touching these areas may result in an electrical shock. Always turn all drive input power supplies OFF, and wait at least 5 minutes after the CHARGE lamp has gone out before connecting communication cables or motor wiring. • Proper ground connections are vital for both safety and signal reliability reasons. For proper grounding procedures, please refer to the section in this manual pertaining to grounding (section 4). • Route all communication cables separate from the drive’s input/output power wiring. • To avoid the possibility of electric shock due to leakage currents, always ground the drive’s E/GND terminal and the motor. To avoid misoperation, do not connect the ETH-100’s GND terminal to either of the above-mentioned grounds or any other power ground. • When making connections between the ETH-100 and the drives, do not use cables that exceed 5 meters in length. • For further drive-specific precaution, safety and installation information, please refer to the appropriate Toshiba documentation supplied with your drive. Installation •••• Wiring • Internal drive EEPROMs have a limited life span of write cycles. Observe all precautions contained in this manual and Toshiba manuals regarding which drive registers safely may and may not be repetitively written to. • Do not touch or insert a rod or any other item into the ETH-100’s case while power is applied, as this may lead to electrical shock or device damage. • Commission the disposal of the ETH-100 to a specialist. • Because the ETH-100 derives its control power from the connected drives, removing power to all connected drives will also cause the ETH-100 to lose power. Other Precautions
