It incorporates many design features designed to give you decades of pleasure and performance. Many of these design choices are uncommon among loudspeaker manufacturers, and bear some explanation. See the following section entitled “Overview” for more information. Our unique driver designs and our emphasis on achieving real-world performance account for the “system” approach taken. These are not speakers that are simply connected to speaker wires and promptly forgotten. We recognize that setting up a Wisdom Audio system is a bit more involved than connecting a common set of loudspeakers, which is why we insist that our dealers perform the installation and calibration of the systems. We know that the extra effort (particularly as regards setting up the SC-2 and SC-3 System Controller) yields vastly improved results. This manual focuses on the loudspeakers themselves. In order to fully understand the system, we recommend you also review the manual for the SC-2/SC-3 System Controller, without which these speakers will not perform correctly. While we expect your local Wisdom Audio dealer to take care of the setup and calibration of the system, we still recommend that you at least briefly review this and the other manuals (SC-2/SC-3, RTL subwoofers) to understand the system’s full capabilities. Your Sage Cinema Series Hybrid Line Source (“HLS”) loudspeaker are specifically designed to avoid the compromises inherent in conventional speaker designs. The active crossover and room correction circuitry in the SC-2 & SC-3 is essential to the speakers’ proper operation. It is truly a “system” design, and not merely a collection of loudspeaker drivers in a box.

Band-Pass woofer assembly box for installing into the ceiling joists 2. The “Bass Snorkel” 3. Two (2) band clamps 4. L-bracket for mounting band-pass cabinet to joists with Required Accessories Not Included: 1. Surface Mount Kit is available for gypsum ceilings using 1/2” or 5/8” (13mm or 16mm) drywall thickness and for solid surface installation for all materials such as stone, wood or tile, from 3/8” to 1-1/4” (9.5mm to 32mm) thickness. A routing tool is also available to help cut solid surface installations. 2. Grills are available in 3” or 4” (76mm or 102mm) width and in both square and round to match lighting fixtures. Mounting the SUB1 Cabinet into the Ceiling Joists: The SUB1 comes shipped with four (4) L brackets. The brackets should be located at the front and rear of the cabinet. The long edge should be screwed into the cabinet. The bracket has a slot to allow for adjustment to allow for a tight fit to the joists. 1. Lay the SUB1 on a flat work surface to allow the bottom of the bracket to sit flush with the bottom of the SUB1. 2. Using the short screws, screw the long edge of the bracket into the face of theSUB1, but do not overtighten! 3. Measure the width of the opening between the joists where the SUB1 will be located and adjust the width of the bracket. Use a second short screw and screw through one of the holes in the bracket, and hand tighten all screws. 4. With the help of an assistant, hold the SUB1 in place so that the L-Brackets (and bottom of the SUB1) is approximately 1/8” (3mm) above the bottom of the joist. This will allow a small air gap between the SUB1 and the ceiling. 5. Using the long screws, attach the L-Bracket to the joists. NOTE: The bottom of the cabinet should not touch the ceiling gypsum to reduce unwanted rattles and resonances. 1 4 2 3 5 6
