701P44280 September 2005 1 Dear Customer: This document contains directions for printing tabs using the DocuSP controller with the DocuColor 250, 2045, 2060, 5252, 6060, 7000, 8000 printers. ™ At the printer: 1. Place tabs in appropriate Tray 3 (DocuColor 2045, 2060, 5252) or any tray (DocuColor 250, 6060, 8000). • Tabs are short edge feed. • Tabs face the back of the printer. • The last tab of the set must be on top if the job is programmed as N to 1. • Size: 9 X 11 inch. • Weight: program with the correct weight. • If the tabs are precut, be sure to program the tab sequence number, which is the number of tabs in the set, not the number of tabs used. For example, if the tab set is 5 and only 3 tabs are being used, the tab sequence number is 5. Example: Set up a job for seven tabs with the tab information included on the originals: – Tab stock is typically purchased in sets of five tabs. For this job put aside the last three tabs of bank two as they are not needed for this job. – Pre-collate the tabs in the tray for every set by reversing the order of the tabs. For this job tab 7 is on top, tab 6 is after that, tab 5 is next, tab 4, tab 3, tab 2, tab 1. – Reverse Order would be for N to 1 job finishing, Otherwise 1 to N is Forward Order. Note: The tabs cannot just be pulled out of the box and flipped over because they will be in the wrong sequence. Extra tabs can be saved for future jobs. – Tabs do not run at rated printer speed because they are heavier stock. – Use Manual job recovery if there is a jam. As jammed tabs are removed, replace them in the paper tray in the proper order or the whole job will be thrown off. Note: If the jammed tab is the furthest from the paper tray, it will have to be the next tab fed by the printer. 2. Place 8.5 x 11 inch paper in a paper tray short edge feed. Note, the only 8.5x11 stock loaded must be short edge feed. ™ At the DocuSP, access the Printer Manager and follow these steps for setting tabs: 1. Select the “Stacking” tab.

*********************************************************** DOCUCOLOR 5000/7000/8000 INFORMATION BULLETIN BULLETIN NUMBER 5000 (18) / 8000 (43) TITLE: Announcement of 32/64 bit Microsoft Vista printer driver support for EXP50 v1.0 (AYA) and EXP8000 v2.1 (BCP & UYP) Print Servers DATE: November 19, 2007 Customer: X Analyst: X *********************************************************** PURPOSE: This bulletin announces the release and availability of Vista drivers for the following DFE’s: ƒ EXP50 v1.0 (AYA) ƒ EXP8000 v2.1 (BCP & UYP) SOFTWARE LIMITATIONS: The following software limitations were found with regards to 32/64 bit Vista drivers for the EXP50 v1.0 and EXP8000 v2.1: Note: All of these drivers are intended to be used only on customer’s client machines as none of these DFE’s use Vista for their Operating System. 32-Bit Vista Driver ƒ When multiple sets of a job are printed from Acrobat v8.x, the job spools to the Print Server as a single job. For example, 2 copies of a 4-page job spools as one 8-page job. Any finishing options such as stapling treat the job as one set rather than multiple sets. Workaround: Clear the default Collate option under Page Handling in the Adobe printer driver. ƒ Once Mixed Media attributes are added, the Image Shift text boxes will be grayed out, but the Image Shift entered in those text boxes will still be applied to the print job. Workaround: Setup any Image Shift before adding any Mixed Media attributes. ƒ When selecting “Saddle” printing in Booklet Maker for PDF files, the job may error out on the DFE with an internal error. Workaround: Send the PDF file to the server without setting this “Saddle” option, and then on the server use the Booklet Maker to select the “Saddle” option. ƒ When a Vista client goes into sleep mode all network connections may be lost. Therefore, if a user was logged into a server via Command WorkStation, this connection may be lost when coming out of sleep mode. ƒ In the Watermark area of the printer driver, if you size a watermark visually to the page and print, the output does not match what you see. Also, if you scale the document smaller or larger (for example, to 50% or to 120%), the watermark does not scale with the document. Workaround: Scale the watermark with the document, print the document to file at 100% then scale to size. ƒ If you set up Image Shift from the printer driver for any negative shift in the Y-direction, the job will print out shifted +13.89 inches in the Y-direction. Workaround: Send the job to the DFE and then change the image shift for the Y-direction to the desired value and print. 1 of 2

Workaround: Send the PDF file to the server without setting the “Saddle” option, and then on the server use the Booklet Maker to select the “Saddle” option. EXP50 v2.0 only: ƒ The “N-up layout” feature is not functional. Workaround: Send the job to the server without using this “N-up layout” feature, and then use the Impose feature to accomplish the desired layout. ƒ The Job Monitor “Printer Status” function will not show the amount of black (K) toner currently in the DC5000 IOT. Workaround: Check the black (K) toner amount on the actual IOT. EXP8000 v3.0 only: If drivers are downloaded from the server over the network, they will not contain the 2400dpi drivers. Workaround: Use the files located on the User Software DVD as they will contain the 2400dpi drivers. EX8000AP v1.0 for 32-Bit Vista Driver only: If the 32-Bit Vista Driver is the only driver loaded on a client, the Job Monitor feature for the driver will not work. Also, if other drivers are already loaded on the client and then this driver is loaded on top of them, Job Monitor will not function for any drivers. Workaround: Load the 32-Bit Vista Driver first on the client and then load the other drivers on top of the vista driver. Job Monitor will then work on all drivers. EX8000AP v1.0 for 64-Bit Vista Driver only: The Job Monitor feature will not work if the 64-Bit Vista Driver is loaded with any other print driver. Workaround: Load only the 64-Bit Vista Driver. DocuColor 6060/7000/8000 Digital Color Press Charge Corotron Cleaning Procedure 701P46606, Version 1.0, February 2007 1 IMPORTANT!! This procedure is available for downloading at www.xerox.com: • Click the Support and Drivers link. • In Product Name, type the desired product name (6060, 7000, or 8000), and click Search. • From the list presented, locate the correct product, and click the Download, or Documen- tation link. • From the User Documenation list, select Docu- Color 6060/7000/8000 Charge Corotron Cleaning Procedure. Cleaning the Charge Corotrons The DocuColor 6060 now uses a new Charge Corotron Assembly. For DocuColor 7000/8000 customers, the assembly is the same, but the part number is new: • The new Charge Corotron Assembly part number for DocuColor 6060/7000/8000 is 13R629. Each corotron assembly is equipped with a cleaning pad and a cleaning wand which makes it very easy to clean the corotron. The cleaning pad and wand are components of the Corotron Assembly; they are not separate parts. Tip: Each corotron unit should be cleaned one time daily in order to provide optimum image quality on your prints. It is recommended that you perform this procedure at the start of every day and after every 5,000 prints. Use the following procedure for daily cleaning of the charge corotrons. 1. Open the front doors of the digital press. 2. Clean each corotron by slowly pulling out and pushing in the Cleaning Wand one time. Tip: To ensure proper cleaning of the pad, slowly pull out the wand until it reaches the end of the assembly; it will stop when it reaches the end. Slowly push in the wand until it is fully seated against the corotron assembly. CAUTION: To avoid damage to the corotron assembly, carefully and slowly pull out the Cleaning Wand. Once the wand reaches the end of the assembly, it stops. Do not continue to pull on the wand as this will remove the wand from the Corotron Assembly, thereby damaging the assembly. If this occurs, you must replace the entire Corotron Assembly. 3. Ensure that the Cleaning Wand is pushed in completely. • Verify that both the corotron assembly and the cleaning wand are seated properly. If either one is not seated properly, the User Interface displays a screen with the message: “Reseat the Charge Corotron Unit.” • Select Close on the UI. • Repeat Steps 2 and 3.
