WARNING: Always disconnect the plug from the mains and allow the appliance to cool before cleaning. • Thoroughly wash the jug and all of its brewing components with warm water. Remove hard scale using a proprietary descaling product suitable for stainless steel, glass or plastic. Alternatively use citric acid crystals (available from most pharmacies) as follows: 1 Fill the appliance 3/4 full, boil, then remove the Tea Maker from the base unit and stand it in an empty sink or bowl. 2 Gradually add 50gm of citric acid crystals to the water, then leave the Tea Maker to stand. Do not use a more concentrated solution. 3 As soon as the effervescence subsides, empty the appliance and rinse it thoroughly with cold water. 4 Wipe the outside of the appliance thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove all traces of acid which may damage the finish.
