Because every life has a purpose...

Applications • Offshore platforms • FPSO’s • Gas plants • Around spherical tanks • Down the length of several bullet tanks • Compressor stations • Fence line monitoring • Rail and truck load outs • Landfills • Urban industrial settings

Things to Consider

• Use two people for alignment, one at Source and one at Receiver • Automatic gain control compensates for dirty optics, rain, and fog • Source and Receiver should not be mounted close to radio sources or similar equipment • Mount away from sources of excessive vibration and high voltage/high current power lines • If the path length is less than 20 meters (65 feet), a Source with an attenuation plate is required • A Long Range Alignment Kit is recommended for separations of 60 meters or more • If using adjacent detectors, install Receivers at opposite ends to prevent light interference measurement errors • Field calibration is not required and the sensitivity can be checked by placing a test gas film in front of the Receiver Specification Ultima OPIR-5 RESPONSE TIME (T90, S) ≤3 REPEATABILITY <±5% LINEARITY <±5% FS or ±10% Applied Gas PATH LENGTH, MAX (M) 30 (short), 100 (standard) OPERATING TEMPERATURE RANGE ( °C) -55 to +65 SOLAR BLIND All conditions FOG IMMUNITY BASED ON FM 6325 95% blockage COMBINED WEIGHT, RECEIVER AND SOURCE (KG) 11 (SS only) SUPPLY POWER, NOMINAL (W) 23 BIDIRECTIONAL COMMUNICATION HART, Modbus EVENT LOGGING/AMS DEVICE MANAGER Available TWO AVAILABLE SCALES LIGHT HYDROCARBONS HEAVY HYDROCARBONS 0-5000 ppm*m & 0-5 LEL*m 0-2000 ppm*m & 0-1 LEL*m Typical AJ Values Distance 20 m 50 m 100 m STANDARD 50-60 40-50 25-35 EXTENDED N/A 45-55 30-40 CLEAR • MEASURE • SOURCE • RECEIVER • Ensure the path is CLEAR between the Source and Receiver. • MEASURE the distance between the Source and Receiver to get the best AJ Values • Start the Alignment at the SOURCE • Finalize the setup at the RECEIVER 0 4 12 AO (mA) 5 LEL•m 5,000 ppm•m (0.1 LEL•m) Methane Gas Concentration (ppm•m) Methane Gas Concentration (LEL•m) 20 www.MSAgasdetection.com Note: This bulletin contains only a general description of the products shown.
