1.1 About these instructions

These instructions contain information about the electrical connection, operation, control parameters and troubleshooting for the RBG 3200 Touch room console. All parameters, which are visible at the “customer” operator level, are shown. The parameters actually displayed may vary depending on system configuration and operating level. The constant further development of our products means that there may be minor differences from the pictures and content. If you discover any errors, please let us know: [email protected]. Subject to technical change. Froling's RBG 3200 Touch room console is a multifunctional device for convenient operation of the boiler from your living room. 1.2 Safety information DANGER When working on electrical components: Risk of electrocution! When work is carried out on electrical components: ❒Only have work carried out by a qualified electrician ❒Observe the applicable standards and regulations ➥Work must not be carried out on electrical components by unauthorised persons 1 General About these instructions 4 Froling GesmbH | A-4710 Grieskirchen, Industriestraße 12 | www.froeling.com

❒Run the bus cable through the large grommet

❒Fit the holding frame as shown at the desired position in the room using the anchors and screws provided ➥The large grommet must be on the right! ➥It is recommended to install the device above a flush-mounted socket so that there is plenty of space to stow away the bus cable. 2.1 Initial start-up NOTICE You should have the initial startup carried out by the authorised heating engineer from Froling customer services. 2.1.1 Connecting the bus cable For the bus connections between the individual modules, cable type LIYCY paired 2x2x0.5 should be used. The connection to the 5-pin plugs should be carried out according to the following diagram: +UBUS CAN H CAN L +UBUS CAN H CAN L Braided shield White Green Yellow Brown Braided shield White Green Yellow Brown Installation 2 Initial start-up Operating Instructions RBG 3200 Touch | B0780115_en 5

2.1.2 Setting end jumpers

To ensure that the bus system continues to work properly, the end jumpers (J) need to be set. ❒If there is an RBG 3200 Touch at the end of a bus system, the end jumper at this module must be set. All the previous ones, with the exception of that at the core module, have to be deleted. 2.1.3 Calibrate the display Once the power supply has been switched on for the first time, the RBG 3200 Touch starts by calibrating the display. To calibrate the touchscreen, you much press five points indicated by a crosshair in the order shown. NOTICE Inaccurate calibration If you do not tap the indicated points accurately, the control may stop working properly and a software update may be required. 2.1.4 Setting the module address Once the display has been calibrated, the module address must be set. If it is the first RBG 3200 Touch in the bus system, set module address 1. Number any others in sequence. NOTICE! Do not select an address of 0 as it leads to malfunctions with the RBG 3200 Touch! 2 Installation Initial start-up 6 Froling GesmbH | A-4710 Grieskirchen, Industriestraße 12 | www.froeling.com

Once you have set the module address, you will need to restart the boiler controller

(switch main switch on boiler off and on). All of the system information will then be loaded into the RBG 3200 Touch. This process can be time-consuming. The following screen appears after the RBG 3200 Touch’s first system start: The basic screen displays only the external temperature as no components have been assigned to the RBG 3200 Touch yet. The term "fault" is a collective term for warnings, errors and alarms. The boiler reacts

differently to the three types of message: WARNING In case of warnings the status LED flashes orange and the boiler initially continues controlled operation. ERROR When there is an error, the status LED flashes red, the boiler follows the shutdown procedure and remains in “Fault / Off“ status until the problem is resolved. ALARM An alarm triggers a system emergency stop. The status LED flashes red, the boiler switches off immediately and the heating circuit controller and pumps remain active. A window with the corresponding fault text will also appear. Pressing the Cancel icon takes you back to the basic display. If the quick select icon and the warning triangle flash alternately, there is still a fault. The “Error display” button will now appear in the quick menu. 6.1 Procedure for fault messages If you open the window with the respective fault text, the right arrow will take you to possible causes of the fault. 6 Troubleshooting Procedure for fault messages 36 Froling GesmbH | A-4710 Grieskirchen, Industriestraße 12 | www.froeling.com
