The bolts shall protrude on the inside of the frame unit. ► ► Fasten the side panels by means of the knurled nuts. ► ► Remove the 4 knurled nuts from the un- derside of the top panel. ► ► Place the top panel and bolts onto the side panels from above and fasten both firmly. The mast foot stub on the base plate and the mast hole of the top plate must be in line . ► ► Now place the fixing frame unit into your not yet inflated boat. The side of the frame unit with mast foot stub and mast hole position must be appointed in direc- tion towards the bow. BOW ► ► Remove the 4 knurled nuts from the fi- xing strips of the side panels. With the ADVENTURE SL both fixing strips must be swapped over. ► ► Removal of the side panel fixing strips from the fixing frame unit by means of Phillips screw driver or wrench (not sup- plied). ► ► Also remove the two each bolts with nuts, for attachment to the boat, and fas- ten them to the new strips. With the SPEED the rudder attaches to

the transom. ► ► Fasten the rudder assembly with both wing nuts in-situ direct to the transom. rigging ► ► Slot the 3 mast sections together, they must click into place. ► ► Feed the main-halyard end without the carbine over the mast top pulley wheels, from the rear. ► ► Insert the mast head fly from above into the 2 holes of the bracket at the top of the upper mast element. ► ► Feed the jib-halyard over the pulley wheel of the upper mast element. ► ► Attach both shrouds to the eyes at the side on the lower section of the upper mast element. ► ► Erect the mast and feed it through the hole of the fixing frame top panel, and place it over the stub on the base plate. ► ► Drill the holes at the positions marked on the stern mount strake, using a drill bit 8.5 mm (not supplied). ► ► Place the rudder hinge over the stern mount strake and tension the two wing nuts. ► ► Insert the rudder into the rudder hinge and secure it with the retaining ring.

Shackle the shrouds to port and star-

USEFUL HINTS ON SAILING FURLING GEAR ► ► The furling gear enables you to instantly enlarge or reduce the foresail to suit. ► ► Lift the jib-sheet from the cleat. ► ► Pull the thin gauge furling line (by the fixing frame unit) to furl/reduce the size of the foresail. ► ► When the foresail has reached the desi- red size, arrest the furling line at the cam-cleat. ► ► To enlarge the foresail size, loosen the furling line from the cleat and pull the res- pective jib-sheet end, so that the foresail unfurls. ► ► When the desired size has been reached, arrest the furling line at the cam-cleat. LEEBOARDS ► ► Both leeboards can be placed in-situ in horizontal as well as in vertical position. ► ► To lower the leeboards, you need to ap- ply a downward swing with a little pep, so that it unlocks from the bracket, swinging forward until a noticeable click arrests the bolt in the other retention bracket. ► ► For lifting the leeboards you need to ap- ply a jerk, pulling to the rear, releasing the blade from the retention bracket, then applying a lively swing up, unhtil the bolt clicks into the other retention bracket. LUFF DOWNHAUL ► ► Adequate tension can be given to the luff of the mainsail by means of the luff- downhaul. ► ► The mainsails luff should always have good tension, but beware not to over ten- sion. MASTHEAD FLY ► ► The masthead-fly attaches to the mast top and indicates the wind direction. IMPORTANT NOTICE The black plastic retention brackets of the leeboards may, under extended exposure to the sun ashore (high temperature) turn softer, diminishing retention property, thus allowing the blade to be released unintended. That should not happen under way a float, and when cooled down, i.e. by water, which restores full retention power.

Cleanse with a clean cloth, and if need be apply silicone grease or -spray-, in particular after subjection to salt water. ► ► Use lukewarm soapy water to cleanse sails. ► ► Repair holes and tears immediately, be- fore they rip further, - if need be apply sticky-tape as temporary repair. ► ► Use poly-acrylic (epoxy) varnish to repair damage to wooden boards, rudder etc. - prior to repair, wood must be entirely dry. ► ► Apply silicone grease or -spray- to blocks, cleats and carbines ► ► After subjection to salt water, use fresh water to thoroughly rinse sails. ► ► Dry sails before stowing. ► ► Stow the sailing rig in the appropriate rig- bag (special accessory) ► ► Store the sailing rig in a dry place, so as to avoid corrosion and mould. ► ► Never subject sails to undue extended sunlight. GERERAL HINTS ON CONDUCT WHEN UNDER WAY ► ► The sailing rig must not be used in condi- tions of wind exceeding force Beaufort 4. ► ► Reduce the sail area when sailing under conditions within and close to the limit of maximum wind-strength ► ► If the wind increases to strength (excee- ding Beaufort 4), lower all sails and pro- ceed to the nearest shore without delay. ► ► Watch out when encountering offshore winds. ► ► Inform yourself on local notices and re- gulations. ► ► Check weather forecasts, local currents, tides and wind conditions. ► ► Inform someone ashore as to your sche- duled destination and estimated time of arrival /return. ► ► Explain to your passengers the basics of sailing. ► ► Ensure that in the event of an emergency one of your passengers is able to skipper the boat. ► ► Safety comes first - learn how to avoid accidents! ► ► Be responsible at all times. ► ► -never neglect to observe safety regula- tions, for to do so endangers your and other peoples life. ► ► Learn to be able to cope with your boat under all conditions. ► ► Secure your luggage against loss in the event of capsize, by means of lacing and strapping it to the boat. ► ► Observe and obey local regulations. ► ► Close to shore, always keep to desig- nated and marked fairways, and keep a good lookout. ► ► Ensure that you and your passengers wear life jackets. ► ► Never navigate a boat under the influ- ence of alcohol, drugs or medicaments. ► ► Ensure that passengers are sober. ► ► Check that when landing, all passengers have arms and legs inside the boat. - Risk of injury! ► ► Keep away from swimmers and divers. ► ► Never carry out sudden „come about“ and turn manoeuvres without informing your passengers first.
