Il sensore funziona in modalità “AND”; que-

TEOL;
- collegare le uscite TEOL e EOL all’ingresso in centrale.
• Modalità standard: Dip switch 2 in OFF
• Modalità PET: Dip switch 2 in ON
• Sensibilità standard: Dip switch 3 in OFF
• Sensibilità alta: Dip switch 3 in ON
attraversati in corsa.
- Dip switch 4 in OFF: visualizzazioni di rilevazione ATTIVE
- Dip switch 4 in ON: visualizzazioni di rilevazione DISATTIVE
• Abilitazione dell’Antimascheramento: Dip switch 1 in ON
Test calibrazione
Posizionare i dip switch come segue:
- Dip switch 1 in OFF (Antimascheramento OFF)
- Dip switch 4 in OFF (Led abilitati)
LED OFF.

Installazione a corridoio
Installazione PET

By-alarm IP54 curtain detector for outdoor use, with dual technol-
ogy, to protect entrances and openings such as doors, windows,
covered terraces, corridors and French doors, surface mounting.
The dual technology sensor incorporates a microwave sensor and an infrared sen-
sor and is able to signal people or animals passing through its area of coverage.
The dual technology enables making the sensor insensitive to the most common
causes of false alarms. The sensor functions in "AND" mode, this means that,
when either sensor detects motion in the area of coverage it remains on pre-alarm
awaiting confirmation from the other sensor as well. Once this condition occurs the
device sends the signal to the control unit.

LINE BALANCING
The detector is equipped with selectable end-of-line resistors to connect the device
to control panels with DOUBLE BALANCING (DEOL) or TRIPLE BALANCING
(TEOL).
Caution: By leaving the jumpers open as per factory settings the detector will
remain configured like any sensor with NC contacts.
Double Balancing Connection
To achieve Double Balancing, use the corresponding jumpers to select the Tamper
resistors (series) and Alarm; finally connect the DEOL and EOL outputs to the
control panel zone input.
Triple Balancing Connection (default configuration)
To achieve Triple Balancing, use the corresponding jumpers to select the Tamper
resistors (series), Alarm and Mask and jumper the TEOL output.
Lastly, connect the TEOL and EOL outputs to the control panel zone input.
N.B. If the control panel only supports Double Balancing and you still want to con-
nect the anti-masking on the same zone, proceed as follows:
- select the resistors as for the DEOL connection and jumper the TEOL output;
- connect the TEOL and EOL outputs to the input in the control panel.
In the event of a masking alarm, a sabotage alarm will be signalled on the zone and
the sensor's three LEDs will blink simultaneously.
Connection for Vimar By-alarm system
Follow the double or triple balancing instructions depending on the desired mode
and select values 3k3 for TAMPER, 4k7 for ALARM and 15k for MASK.
DETECTOR CONFIGURATION
Infrared range adjustment
Set the slide selector on the desired range (Max 12 m, Med 8 m, Min 6 m).
Attach the front panel and with the LEDs OFF, move at right angles to the sensor,
checking the infrared detection via the AMBER LED lighting up.
Microwave range adjustment
Using the trimmer, set the minimum value (range 4-12 m), go to the end of the area
to protect and, with the LEDs off, move at right angles to the sensor and check the
microwave detections via the GREEN LED.
If the LED does not light up, increase the range by turning the trimmer clockwise
and repeat the test until you obtain the required conditions.
Detection modes
• Standard mode: DIP-switch 2 OFF
In this mode, an alarm is signalled if both technologies detect an intrusion. The
microwave sensor cannot be excluded: in this mode all infrared beams may gen-
erate an alarm if at least one of these is crossed.
• PET mode: DIP-switch 2 ON
Pet immune detection mode; the sensor should be installed at a height of 1 m
and the alarm will be signalled only if the PET beam is crossed too.
• Standard sensitivity: DIP-switch 3 OFF
Detection mode suited for protecting closed entrances or entrances with obsta-
cles that cannot be quickly crossed.
• High sensitivity: DIP-switch 3 ON
Detection mode suited for protecting open entrances that can be quickly
crossed. Detection is guaranteed up to a distance of 8 m from the sensor.
Viewing detections
- DIP-switch 4 OFF: detection viewing ON
- DIP-switch 4 ON: detection viewing OFF
With the SET line connected, on turning off the system (SET line +12 V), the sensor
will activate viewing for 30 s after the first detection.
Anti-masking
Any object capable of masking the microwave generates an alarm that is displayed
by the LEDs blinking and is sent to the control panel via the MASK terminal; this
condition remains until the cause of the alarm is removed. If the IR lens is covered
(sheet of paper, cardboard, paint, spray, rain), the detector will go into microwave
mode and there will be an intrusion alarm only with this detection mode. The device
will then quit this mode when there is an infrared detection.
• Enabling Anti-masking: DIP-switch 1 ON
Enabling the anti-masking function is the last step to perform. On enabling
anti-masking, the detector will go into self test mode for 60 s; within this length of
time, close the device's front panel and move away. The sensor will then go into
SELF-CALIBRATION mode and automatically calibrate the anti-masking level.
It is important that during this stage there are no presences in the immediate
vicinity of the sensor in order not to alter the self-calibration.
Calibration test
Set the DIP-switches as follows:
- DIP-switch 1 OFF (Anti-masking OFF)
- DIP-switch 4 OFF (LEDs enabled)
In this mode the Anti-masking function is disabled.
Walk test
Whenever power is applied the detector goes into LED ON for 40 min regardless of
the setting; this is to allow carrying out the walk test even with LED OFF. In practice,
during these 40 min, the detector is able to generate alarms, making the on-board
LEDs work even if they were set to remain switched off.

INSTALLATION RULES
• Installation should be carried out by qualified personnel in compliance with the
current regulations regarding the installation of electrical equipment in the country
where the products are installed.
• For installation, use halogen-free shielded cables suitable for installation with
Category 1 power cables (U0 = 400 V) art. 01734.E (2x0.50mm2 + 4x0.22mm2).
The length of the connections must not exceed 100 m.
• The ideal installation height is 2.5 m with a detection range of 12 x 2.7 m; varying
the installation height decreases the detection range in proportion.
• Install the sensor so that there are no nearby moving objects or objects that could
move with the wind, such as trees or plants.
• If installed where it is sheltered from the rain, use the double bottom C; otherwise
use the double bottom with rain guard (see figures in INSTALLATION).
• In PET mode, install the sensor at a height of 1 m.
• The sensor can be installed directly on the wall to protect (Fig. 1), on a wall per-
pendicular to the perimeter to protect (Fig. 2) or to protect a corridor (Fig. 3). The
mounting frame B has a slight angle of 3° in order to have coverage outside the
perimeter to be protected as in Fig. 1 and Fig 2. Side B1 must be placed between
the sensor and the perimeter, this enables installing the sensor near the perimeter.

B2
Slide the cable into the mounting frame B, attach the side B2 on the perpendicular wall
and with B1 on the side of the perimeter to protect; lastly, close B1 with the cover plate A.
Corridor installation
When installing in a corridor, check that there is space on the sides of the area by
referring to the coverage diagram "View from above". Slide the cable through the
cable cover C or F and tighten the cable cover directly to the wall using the plugs
and the two large screws. If required, attach the mounting frame B as described
using the two plugs and the two large screws; then slide the cable into the cable
cover C or F, secure it with the two small screws provided onto the mounting
frame B, route the cable into the bottom D and fix it with the screws on the cable
cover bottom (C or F). Terminate the cable on the terminal block and power up;
the sensor will run a self test for two minutes (alternately lighting up the LEDs) and
afterwards make the adjustments. When switched on, the detector 01723 will go
into LED ON mode for 40 minutes regardless of the setting made.
PET installation
In the event that pet immunity is requested (pet size not exceeding 10 kg) the alarm will
be generated only if also the PET beam is crossed; the detector should then be installed
in such a way that pets can move freely in the areas not covered by the PET beam.
Caution: The pet size is only an approximate figure as also the pet’s behaviour
might generate an alarm (if, for example, by jumping it crosses the PET beam) so it
is recommended to test the operation of the detector with the pet present.
In this mode the detection range is reduced to 6 m and the sensor becomes
avoidable; under these circumstances, it is recommended not to enable the
MASK function.
