released Rev. 1.5 2018-02 2 Option: IRMA MATRIX sensor with door contact Optionally a door contact magnet (electromagnet) is available which can be fitted for signalization of the door status. The door contact magnet requires a 24 V DC connection (for technical data see section 2.5, page 15). 2.1 Mounting of the surface mount version with door contact magnet Fig. 1: Surface mount version: with door contact magnet Exterior Interior All considerations on the installation position and orientation of the sensors are based on the assumption that the viewer is inside the vehicle.

Exterior 1. First drill the 4 holes in the door trim, see sketch on the left. The drilling pattern is enclosed in the Annex to this document. 1 Hole for door contact 2 Hole for sCON connector 3 Holes for mounting screws Important note: Observe the installation orientation, as the drilling pattern is not symmetrical. In the sensor mounting position, the door contact sits on the left towards the vehicle exterior, here marked with "Exterior". 2. Pull the magnet cable through its hole in the door trim from below so that the lugs of the magnet support face the passenger area. 3. Press the magnet into the hole until the holding lugs rest on the door trim.

released Rev. 1.5 2018-02 2. Rear side of the sensor: The round magnet must come to sit in the recess. When mounted, the sensor is located on the left and towards the vehicle outside marked with "Exterior" on the nameplate. 3. Screw the cylinder head screws into the threaded holes of the sensor so that they are adjusted and sit reliably in their holes. Then insert the sensor from the front through the opening in the mounting surface and hold it up with one hand. 4. Slide the leaf spring holder under the screw head via the guide groove. The round magnet must come to sit exactly above the round recess on the rear of the sensor 5. Hold the spring leaf holder with the magnet in its position relative to the sensor with your thumb and pointer finger. At the same time tighten the cylinder head screw with your other hand using a hex key (size 4). When tightening the mounting screws, observe the maximum permissible torque of 3 Nm! The sensor must not be attached on one side only. Support the sensor with your hand until the last screw is tightened.

released Rev. 1.5 2018-02  Mounting of the door contact magnet with connectors sCON-F-12 and sCON-F-12-PoE (see Fig. 3 and Fig. 4) 1. First cut the rectangular cutout in the door trim (see also Fig. 2). The drilling pattern is enclosed in the Annex to this document. 2. Rear side of the sensor: The round magnet with its cable must come to sit in the recess. The threaded holes are for the 3 small mounting bolts. The mounted magnet is always on the left side on the sensor towards outside the vehicle, marked with "Exterior" on the nameplate. 3. The 3 small mounting bolts remain in the edge of the bracket. Now fit in the magnet with its cable into the recess. Exterior 1 1 Recess on the rear of the sensor for the round magnet 2 Threaded hole for the mounting bolt With the following connectors sCON-F-12-PoE and sCON-F-12, you mount the door contact magnet on the sCON connector first and afterwards you mount the sCON connector including the magnet on the sensor (with the cove between the two).

released Rev. 1.5 2018-02 4. Tighten the 3 small mounting screws with an hexagon socket screw key (2,5 mm). When tightening the mounting screws, observe the maximum permissible torque of 3 Nm! The sensor must not be attached on one side only. 2.3 Connection of the door contact magnet Table 1: Power supply and behavior of the door contact magnet Connecting cable 2 wires Wire No. Signal Wire color and marking " " Variant K31 Connection of magnet Behavior of the door contact magnet 1 VP+ white, red marking, "1" 24 / 0 V DC 24 V door contact magnet enabled 0 V door contact magnet disabled 2 VP- white, "2" Ground When connecting the door contact magnet, the correct polarity of the connections must be observed. Otherwise the door contact magnet will be destroyed. The door contact logic can be set during the configuration of the external door contact (see section 2.4, page 14). 1 K3: applies to cables with Increased fire protection in accordance with DIN 5510-2 1,2,3,4 and halogen-free in accordance with standards EN 50267-2-1 or IEC 60754-1

released Rev. 1.5 2018-02 2.4 Configuration/installation of the door contact If the external door contact is activated, the control of the door information via the on- board computer or gateway is not interpreted. The sensor is controlled only by the signals from the external door contact. With grouped sensors, the door contact can only be assigned to the master. Fig. 5: Configuration of the door contact "Enable External Door Contact“: enables the external door contact, the setting parameters become accessible. "Debounce Time“: - response time, freely adjustable in the range from 0 to 999 ms (recommendation: 10 ms for mechanical switches, for pneumatically operated switches a longer period can be necessary.) "Door Close Delay“: - delay, freely adjustable in the range from 0 to 9999 ms, becomes effective after the door is closed (1000 ms = 1 s).

IRMA MATRIX R2 Option Door Contact | Mounting Manual

released Rev. 1.5 2018-02 "Hall Sensor Polarity“: - Here the door contact logic can be selected as either "logically positive" or "logically negative". Logically positive means: 0 V = "Door closed"; 24 V = "Door open," logically negative means: 0 V = "Door open"; 24 V= "Door closed". "Hall Sensor Function“: is a selection window, at present allowing only the setting "Activate And Door Function". "Default" button - Clicking restores all settings to the factory settings. 2.5 Technical data of the door contact magnet Power supply 16,8 – 30 VDC Power consumption at 24 V 40 ± 10 mA 3 Appendix (Drilling templates) Drilling templates see on next pages
