The EcoAlpa control unit has three relay outputs:

R1 – Failure This output may adopt one of two possible states: it is closed if no failure is detected within the Gas Detection System or opens when at least one defect is detected in any device incorporated into the system or when power voltage failure takes place. Status of contacts is shown in Figure 4: Figure 4: Status of contacts for the R1 (failure) relay R2-R3 – these outputs may also adopt one of two possible states, i.e. outputs can be either active of inactive: Figure 5: R2 and R3 relays in the acti ...

Remote valve control module – ZMZ

The External Shutoff module is a device supplementary for the EcoAlpa Control Unit and its use is necessary when the shutoff valve has to be installed far away from the control unit. Such a solution eliminates to need to use cables with large cross sections to connect the control unit and the valve. The connecting line between the control unit and the ZMZ module transmits only low-current signals. In addition, the ZMZ module is able to back up operation of the system when power voltage from the supplying grid disappears. 7.1 Electric interf ...

EcoAlpa front panel includes:

status area for gas detectors, valve area, power supply area, keypad area, memory area, external alarm area, and internal buzzer (internal sounder). Figure 6: Front panel of EcoAlpa Control Unit 6.1 Indicators of detector statuses These indicators are designed to reflect operation statuses of detectors connected to the control unit. 6.1.1 OK indicators The OK indicating LED is provided on the front panel of the control unit to inform that the unit operates normally and no exceeding of warning or alarm thresholds are reported by col ...

The ALARM indicator enables the control unit to inform that the specific gas detector reported exceeding of

the maximum permissible threshold of gas concentration – see details in the table below: Purpose /colour Meaning / red The LED is permanently on – the second (alarm) threshold of gas concentration is exceeded. / red The LED flashes – the first (warning) threshold of gas concentration is exceeded. The LED is off – none of gas concentration threshold is exceeded. Table 6: Purpose of the ALARM indicator 6.1.3 FAILURE indicators When any irreg ...

The EcoAlpa Control Unit offers basic self-test functions that enable:

monitoring of communication lines and detection of line breaks, verification of connections with the 12V valve and the ZMZ module with detection of the following faults: • breaks on the control line designed to close the valve, • breaks on the control line designed to connect the ZMZ module, • failure /disconnection of the backup battery within the ZMZ module (the defect is indicated while the test to close the valve is executed). 9.5.2 Test of valve ...
