Text of the manual

Thank you for purchasing the Andatech® Prodigy 3.

The Andatech® Prodigy 3 is a state-of-the-art device used to detect Ethyl Alcohol from a valid breath sample. It uses an electrochemical fuel cell to measure the concentration of alcohol from the breath sample expelled from a human subject. If alcohol is present, a corresponding voltage is generated from the fuel cell, which is proportional to the alcohol content of the sample provided by a human subject. This voltage is then sent to the CPU and converted to a subject’s BAC (blood alcohol concentration), which is then displayed. The operator of this device should read the operation manual and be familiar with the device operation before using it. Retain the manual for future reference. Prodigy 3 Features 1. Stores more than 100,000 test records along with full data and photographs. Test records can be uploaded to a computer for record keeping. 2. Uses disposable mouthpieces or sampling cups to prevent foreign matter from entering. 3. A hard plastic case is included for storing the device and its accessories for easy transport. When not in use, the device and its accessories should be stored in this hard case to prevent damage. 4. Ability to take consecutive tests as needed. Recovery time between tests on average is 30 seconds (between positive tests). 5. Powered by a High-capacity lithium battery. The battery is located behind the sliding cover on the back of the device. The level of power left in the battery is indicated on the screen. A cigarette plug adapter is also included for use by the operator. 6. Storage temperature range is -30°C to 70°C and storage humidity is 15% to 90% RH (relative humidity). Inappropriate storage of the device will shorten the lifespan of the fuel cell sensor. 7. Saves the GPS location of the test. 8. Immediate data transmission by 3G/4G and WIFI. MEASUREMENTS & CONDITIONS FOR TEST

• Use a clean mouthpiece for each test. • The optimum temperature range for operating the unit is -10°C to 50°C. Use within this temperature range will limit condensation from a subject’s breath and ensure an accurate reading is taken. • Do not allow samples containing smoke, tobacco or other chemical products to enter the unit, as damage to the fuel cell sensor can occur. • It is recommended that the operator observe the subject for approximately 20 minutes before administering the breath test. This is to ensure the subject does not consume anything. Following this procedure will ensure the subject’s saliva is clear of alcohol so that it does not alter the outcome of the breath sample test. • There must be an interval of at least 15 minutes after alcohol consumption as alcohol residue in the mouth may give a false reading. Such residue may also be left by aromatic drinks, mouthwash, medicines and drops, as well as by belching and vomiting. Mouth rinsing with water or non-alcoholic drinks does not substitute for an interval. • A person’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) can continue to rise for up to 2 hours after drinking alcohol. If a result is close to the designated BAC, it is recommended to wait and retest after 20 minutes. • It can take 10 hours or more for a person’s BAC to return to zero after a high BAC has been reached. A further test should be carried out later in the day or the following morning. CONDITIONS FOR TESTING LIABILITY FOR PROPER FUNCTION OR DAMAGE The liability for proper functioning of the instrument is irrevocably transferred to the owner or operator in the event the instrument is serviced or repaired by personnel not employed or authorised by Andatech. In such an event, the warranty will be void. OPERATING CONDITIONS Working temperature of the Andatech® Prodigy 3: -10 to 50°C Storage temperature range of the Andatech® Prodigy 3: -30 to 70°C, 15 to 90%RH Note: Inappropriate storage of the device will shorten the lifespan of the fuel cell sensor.

Refer to “Conditions for Testing” before conducting a Standard or Passive test.

On/Off Press and hold the power button for 1-2 seconds to switch the device on or off. Taking a standard test 1. Attach a mouthpiece onto the sample port and select the Standard Test icon. 2. The breathalyser will take a Blank Test to ensure the mouthpiece and sensor are clear of alcohol from previous tests. 3. If the Blank Test result shows 0.000, the unit will proceed to test mode (skip to step 5). 4. If alcohol is detected, verify that a clean mouthpiece is being used and select retest. 5. Use the stylus pen to input information. 6. When the screen displays “Please Blow”, take a deep breath and blow into the mouthpiece with a slow and steady breath until the BEEP tone stops and the Time and Volume bars are full. • A photo will be taken while the subject is blowing. • A passive test can be taken by pressing the icon while the subject is still blowing. 7. The test result will display on the screen. Press to go to the next screen (review results). 8. If the subject did not blow within 30 seconds, the administrator can press to confirm that the subject refused to take a test, or press to allow the subject to take a test again, or to exit. 9. If the subject failed to give a valid breath sample, the administrator can press to confirm or to allow the subject to take the test again. 10. Select to print the test result. 11. Push the button underneath the mouthpiece to remove the mouthpiece and take another test. Taking a passive test 1. Attach a sampling cup onto the sample port and select the Passive Test icon. 2. When the screen displays “Please Blow”, take a deep breath and blow into the sampling cup until the BEEP tone stops. 3. Press to take a manual sample while the subject is still blowing into the sampling cup. 4. An “Alcohol Detected” or “No Alcohol” result will display on the screen. 5. The next test can be taken immediately after a “No Alcohol” result. 6. If “Alcohol Detected” result was displayed, use a mouthpiece to perform a Standard Test to confirm the test result.

7. If alcohol was detected during a passive test, clean the sampling cup or use a new sampling cup

to prevent residual alcohol from affecting the next test result. 8. Select to print the test result. Note: A passive test only checks for the presence of alcohol in a breath sample. An accurate test result can only be obtained via a Standard Test using a mouthpiece. Passive test results will not be stored in the device but can be printed immediately after a test is taken. Record 1. The device can store over 100,000 test records along with the subject’s photo. 2. Select the Record icon to view details of past test records. 3. Select to print out individual test records. 4. Select to search for test records based on their record number, date, time, mode or result. Then press again to confirm. Calibration 1. When the screen displays “Calibration Needed”, it means the device has passed its calibration due date. 2. Contact an authorised calibration centre to get the device calibrated. GPS 1. Shows the longitude and latitude of the device location. 2. The longitude and latitude of the test is stored and printed on the printout. 3. Uncheck the “Print GPS” tickbox under the “Print” Settings to disable printing the GPS location on test records. Note: The GPS function requires 3-8 minutes after startup to begin locating correctly. Ensure the device is in an open area in order to receive a signal. If no GPS signal is detected, the longitude and latitude will not be shown on the printout. 3G/4G 1.
