MAINTENANCE AND CARE

| 25 24 MAINTENANCE AND CARE SAFET Y INFORMATION The safety and integrity of the Tread can only be maintained when it is regularly examined for damage and repaired. Always power down and unplug the Tread before cleaning or performing maintenance. It is the owner’s sole responsibility to ensure that regular maintenance is performed. Replace worn or damaged parts immediately. Do not use the Tread until repairs are made. Use only original parts from Peloton. Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by Peloton could void the warranty. Service other than the procedures described here must be performed by an authorized technician. MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE Before every class: y Check the area around and underneath the Tread for potential obstructions. Weekly: y Clean Tread surfaces. y Check power cord for damage. y Clean the area underneath the Tread. Monthly: y Check the entire Tread for wear and damage. y Test the safety key by pulling it out while walking on the Tread. y Make sure the belt is centered. Every six months: y Lubricate the belt. CLEANING THE TREAD y Clean the Tread regularly for optimal performance and longevity. y Clean surfaces with a damp cloth and mild, soapy water. y Never use abrasive cleaners. y Never spray or pour liquid directly on Tread surfaces. Never allow liquid to drip into any opening on the Tread. y Always power off and unplug the Tread before cleaning.

CENTERING OR TENSIONING THE BELT

LUBRICATING THE BELT 1 Power down and unplug the Tread. 2 Use a 3mm Allen wrench to remove one screw from each rear end cap and three from the rear belt guard. 3 Use a 6mm Allen wrench to tighten the tensioning screws on each side of the belt. Tightening a screw will increase the tension on that side of the belt, and can pull the belt out of alignment. Make sure the red line on the belt stays between the two centering dots at the front of the Tread. 4 Return the belt guard and end caps to the back of the deck and screw them into place. For more detailed instructions, visit support.onepeloton.com. 1 Power down and unplug the Tread. 2 Use a 3mm Allen wrench to remove one screw from each rear end cap and three from the rear belt guard 3 Use a 6mm Allen wrench to loosen the tensioning screws on each side of the belt. 4 Apply a bead of silicone lubricant to the deck board. 5 Use the 6mm Allen wrench to tighten both tensioning screws. Make sure the red line on the belt sits between the two centering dots at the front of the Tread. 6 Return the belt guard and end caps to the back of the deck and screw them into place. MAINTENANCE AND CARE CONTINUED Problem: The touchscreen has trouble connecting to WiFi. Solution: Peloton recommends a minimum of 10-15 mbps download and 2.5 mbps upload speed for your touchscreen. WiFi extenders and boosters, distance from the router, and obstructions like walls and furniture can weaken your WiFi signal. If you continue to have trouble with your WiFi connection, you can connect to a Local Area Network (LAN). Use an adapter to connect an Ethernet cable to the USB-C network port on the back of the touchscreen. Problem: The Tread is producing an unusual noise. Solution: Immediately stop the belt and set the incline to zero. Power down and unplug the Tread and contact member support. Problem: The belt won’t move. Solution: First, make sure the Tread is awake. If the screen is dark, the Tread is asleep and will not work. If the Tread is awake, try detaching and reattaching the safety key. If you are still unable to start the belt, use the power switch at the front of the deck to turn the Tread off and then on. If you are unable to start the belt after power cycling, contact member support. Problem: Control lights are on, but the touchscreen is blank. Solution: If you have just turned on the Tread, wait a few moments for the system to boot. If the screen still doesn’t turn on, try to wake the system by touching the screen or by pressing and holding the center button for a few seconds. If the screen is still unresponsive, contact member support. CAUTION: Any repair or troubleshooting procedure other than those described in this section must be performed by authorized personnel. TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem: The Tread does not register heart rate data.

Solution: Check your heart rate monitor. y Is the sensor receiving data? You may need to tighten the strap or moisten the electrodes to help the monitor pick up your heart rate. y Is the heart rate monitor paired with a different device? y Does the monitor battery need to be replaced? Keep in mind that the Tread will only display heart rate data when a class is in progress. Problem: The Tread won’t turn on. Solution: First make sure that the power cord is securely attached to the Tread and the outlet, and that the Tread is switched on. Then press and hold the center button for a few seconds. The control lights should turn on. If the Tread is still unresponsive, contact member support. Problem: The Speed and/or Incline knob does not work. Solution: If the Tread is awake and the controls are not working, check the control lights. The Tread will function only when the safety key is present and fully engaged. Solid red lights indicate that the safety key is not connected. Try detaching and reattaching it. Blinking red lights indicate an error. Follow the instructions on the screen, or, if there are no instructions, use the switch on the underside of the deck to turn the Tread off and then on. If the issue persists after power cycling, contact member support. TROUBLESHOOTING CONTINUED Problem: The belt comes to a stop during a workout. Solution: If an error occurs during operation, the Tread belt will come to a stop. The stop may be gradual or more sudden, depending on the error and your speed. Errors could include: y The safety key disconnecting y The Tread not registering the presence of a user below the minimum user weight y A temporary issue with the touchscreen software If an error occurs, follow the instructions on the screen. If there are no instructions, use the switch on the underside of the deck to switch the Tread off. Wait 30 seconds before switching it back on. See support.onepeloton.com for more information on possible errors. Problem: Control lights are red. Solution: y Solid red lights indicate that the safety key is not connected.
