-17- 6. CONFIGURATION Once the device is installed, the application is downloaded and the communication is made, the device has to be configured according to its installation: 1º Connect to the device. To communicate with the instrument through the ModBus protocol it is necessary that the instrument has an identity (by default all the instruments have the identity 1) When connected to the RS485 model, it can be connected via a COM port or via TCP/IP. In this case you must enter the IP address and port. Once connected, just press the close button and enter the configuration menu 2º Basic Configuration. In the configuration menu we enter the basic configuration menu and introduce the network parameters. Here we can change the identity of the equipment (max 247)*, the freezing data refresh time and the voltage and current input value.

-18- The equipment does not have RCT (Real Clock Time), but the time can be introduced. By pressing the synchronize button, the device will take the date and time from the computer to which it is connected (as it does not have RCT, the time can be delayed, it is advisable to synchronize the device from time to time for its correct operation, mainly in tariff mode). For the demand side configuration, the energy demand is calculated using the arithmetic integration of the power values over a period of time divided by the length of the period. The result is equivalent to the energy accumulated during the period of time divided by the length of the period. The current demand is calculated using the arithmetic integration of the rms current values over a period of time divided by the period length. The duration of the intervals for calculating the demand is taken care of by the equipment. Several methods can be implemented: Fixed block interval (fix): the intervals are consecutive, the power meter calculates and updates the demand at the end of each interval. Note: 15min is only an example. Sliding block interval (slip): the intervals are sliding. The equipment calculates and updates the demand at the slip rate. Note: 15min is only an example. Relative time parameters are set as t (slip time, unit: minutes) and T (slip block interval, unit: minute)

MTA36 User Manual

-19- Fixed interval mode means that the average demand value in T minutes is calculated for each T block, and then the value is recorded. A month's demand is automatically recorded at a fixed time. Sliding interval mode means that the average demand value of the last T minutes is calculated, and then the value is recorded. The demand of a month is automatically recorded at a fixed time. *RS485 version: For the RS485 version, the MTA36R, the modbus identity is configured differently.
