english The PSU01 is used for the safe positioning evaluation for implementing functions of limit switches, inspection limit switches, time-delayed limit switches, unintended car movement (UCM) as well as for the safe bypass of the safety circuit in case of premature door opening/relevel- ling of elevator systems according to EN81-20. It forms a system unit together with the Ants LES01 sensor. Any unintended use can result in hazardous situations. The PSU Evaluation Unit may only be used in conjunction with the Ants LES01. All information provided in both operating instructions must be strictly observed. The operating instructions for the Ants LES01 are enclosed with this product. They are explicitly referred to here as an integral part of the product. 1.8 Transport & delivery Upon receiving the delivery, immediately check it for any transport damage. Immediately notify the transport company of any damage. Damage may rule out the commissioning of the Position Super- visor Unit. If you do not immediately install the Position Supervisor Unit, store the device at a dry location free of dust - ideally in the transport packaging. 1.9 Storage The device must be stored according to the following conditions: • Dry and dust-free • Avoid mechanical vibrations • Do not store outdoors • Do not exceed the temperature and humidity limits (see technical specifications) 1.10 Other applicable documents All technical specifications are provided in the corresponding data sheets of the PSU01 as well as of the Ants LES01. They contain the mechanical and electrical characteristic values of the Position Supervisor Unit. The separate operating instruction (R60200.0009) of the product must be observed for commissioning the Ants LES01. In addition, there are programming instructions that are necessary to parameterise the PSU01. This is generally only interesting for control manufacturers to ensure that their lift control system is compatible with the PSU01.These instructions is continuously keep up to date and are also available for download on our homepage. Each CANopen terminal can be used to parameterise the unit. The necessary EDS files are always available for download on our homepage.

2. Product characteristics The PSU Evaluation Unit is a safe position evaluation unit for implementing functions of limit switches, inspection limit switches, time-delayed limit switches, Unintended Car Movement (UCM) as well as for the safe bypass of the safety circuit in the area of the doors in case of premature door opening/relevel- ling of elevator systems according to EN81-20. The overall system PSU01 consists of two devices, the Ants LES01 (Linear Encoder Safe) and the PSU Evaluation Unit (Position Supervisor Unit) described here. The PSU01 is connected via a free CAN-bus to an external compatible control, a CANopen terminal or an external programming device, which is used for parameterising the safety functions. The parametrisation procedure is not a part of these operating instructions. In this respect, reference is made to the separate programming manual or the respective manual of the compatible control. The PSU01 receives corresponding parameters or reset commands from one of these devices via the free CAN bus (Port X3) and outputs information about the position, state, etc. to these external devi- ces as well as to elevator controls. The pure positioning output is also optionally supported via SSI. The PSU Evaluation Unit and the Ants LES01 are certified as a complete system and may only be operated together. They are factory-identified by a Set.ID. Ants LES01 safely provides the absolute positions of the elevator plant via a second private CAN bus and forwards them to the PSU Evaluation Unit (Port X2). Ants LES01 is moreover certified and available as a standalone product. The Ants LES01 as part of the PSU01 must be correctly commissioned according to its operating instructions. 2.1 Function of the PSU01 The PSU01 fulfils the following requirements for the state-of-the-art elevator system: • Limit switch emulation • Inspection limit switch emulation for reduced shaft head / shaft pit • Safety circuit for bypassing the door contacts • Unintended Car Movement (UCM) • Time-delayed limit switch emulation • Overspeed pre-tripping • Door zone emulation for forwarding the information to an optional external UCM unit The PSU01 fulfils the requirements according to EN81 by: • The one-time teaching of all stops (performed during commissioning) • Safety relays to open the safety circuit • Safety relays for door bypass • Inspection input query 2.1.1 Limit switch emulation The emergency limit switches are simulated according to EN81-20 Safety function 5.12.2. New stations must be at least 2 mm away from the taught limit switch positions.

EN - page 9 (R60953.0009 3)

english 2.1.2 Inspection limit switch emulation The Position Supervisor Unit (PSU01) allows monitoring the protected area in case of reduced shaft head / shaft pit according to EN81-21, 5.5.3.4 or 5.7.3.4 (inspection limit switch). This function is represented by an additional virtual limit switch positioned at a fixed distance of 1.2 m from the limit switch. One is present for shortened top buffers and one for shortened bottom buffers. These new limit switches are called “inspection limit switches”. The position of the inspection limit switches is fixed at 1.2 m from the limit switch and cannot be moved. The inspection limit switches are optional and can be disabled during the first configuration. When the lower inspection limit switch is enabled, it may happen that the car, when operated by the installer standing on the car roof, stops in the inspection limit switch area, even though the lowest stop has not been reached (1.2 m from the limit switch). 2.1.3 Safety circuit for door bypass The PSU01 provides a safety circuit for bypassing the door contacts according to EN81-20: 5.12.1.4. The PSU01 bypasses, on request, the door contacts of a determined stop • for early door opening • for car level control and • for a fast start. An external safety circuit for bypassing doors is expressly forbidden. 2.1.4 Unintended Car Movement (UCM) The PSU01 provides protection against the unintentional movement of the elevator car according to EN81-20 safety function 5.6.7. The set door zone (see 2.1.2) is used as the UCM zone. This also exclusively refers to the length of the zone. The UCM zones are always active and cannot be selecti- vely switched. The door zone emulation (Port X6) allows the use of an optional external UCM unit.

EN - page 10 (R60953.0009 3)

Since the UCM detection is permanently active in the PSU01, the PSU01 also triggers in the case of an UCM event, and not only the external unit. Accordingly, both devices must be reset. The control for the brake element of the protection device is included in the PSU01, but the brake element of the protection device itself is not a part of his safety circuit or of this description. It must be provided on site in the elevator plant. The regulations ap- plicable to this element must be complied with. The brake elements used for the protection device must be devices tested in compliance with the provisions of EN81-20, 5.6.7 and which are able to stop the elevator within the prescribed distance and delay. A car level control at a speed exceeding 0.3 m/s is always detected by the PSU01 as a UCM event, independently of the UCM zone. 2.1.5 Time-delayed control switch The PSU01 provides the time delay control circuit function for shortened buffers according to EN81- 20: 5.12.1.3. This function is represented by an additional speed-dependent virtual limit switch, which can be positioned freely once (using CANopen). These new limit switches will be called „time-delayed limit switches“ hereafter. There is one time-delayed limit switch for shortened top buffers and one for shortened bottom buffers. The tripping speed is set to 1 m/s and cannot be modified. If necessary, the position of the time-delayed limit switch must be shifted. 2.1.6 Overspeed pre-tripping The PSU01 provides the overspeed pre-tripping function (EN81-20: 5.6.2.2.1) or upward travel over- speed (EN81-20: 5.6.6) function and opens the safety circuit in case of such a event. This function is not part of the SIL3 certification and does not replace the measures prescribed in EN81. 2.1.7 Door zone emulation The PSU01 provides the door zone via two redundant channels. It thus simulates door magnets, which can be omitted at the assembly. As standard, all door zones are simulated by the Evaluation Unit as soon as the elevator travels slower than 0.8 m/s.

EN - page 11 (R60953.0009 3)

english In the standard, the door zone is preset to ± 20 mm from the sill. It can be modifi ed between ± 5-200 mm. More detailed information on the parameters can be found in the programming manual. A maximum of 200 sills is possible. Sills must have a minimum distance of 20 mm from one another. If neighboring door zones are overlapping, they will be shortened in order to have a zone-free area of at least 10 mm, or they will be merged to a common zone. The redundant door zone relays (port X6) are exclusively intended for an optional external UCM unit and may not be used for any other elevator safety function. 2.2 Special features • Mechanical limit switches are no longer necessary • No additional magnets are necessary for the premature door opening • Easy installation through hat rail assembly in the roof control or control boxes 2.3 Scope of delivery PSU01 • Evaluation Unit / Position Supervisor Unit in top-hat rail housing. • Ants LES01 (separate instruction manual for Ants LES01 is included in the scope of delivery). 2.4 Example of a type plate A label is attached to the Position Supervisor Unit. english 5. Electrical installation Before unplugging/disconnecting the signal line, please always disconnect the voltage supply. When connecting the Ants LES01, the corresponding operating instructions must be observed. All li- nes and trailing cables must be manufactured with dual insulation or mechanically protected according to EN81-20 5.10.6. The operating personnel must ensure that the device is not damaged by an electrostatic charge / discharge during installation / replacement. A direct contact with the board / electronic components should be avoi- ded or suitable protective measures should be taken. 5.1 EMC notes • With bus lines, only use shielded and twisted pair lines for the Position Supervisor Unit. • To prevent earth loops, the shield is only connected at one location (PSU01 is already earthed through PELV) to the potential (protective earth). • Make sure that the line shields are corrected fastened. • Make sure that the lines are properly routed when wiring your system. Disconnect the wiring in the ling groups, motor/power supply lines and signal/data/safety circuit lines. • Route the signal and data lines as close to the earth surfaces as possible (frame members, metallic rails, cabinet covers) and not parallel to the motor and the power supply line. • Connect all operating equipment ensuring low-impedance to the earth/protective conductor system. 5.2 General instructions 5.2.1 Applicable safety standards • Prior to commissioning, all the necessary cable cores must be connected according to the data sheet. The Ants LES01 is already pre-assembled and must only be plugged in at port X2. Pro- perly insulate all unnecessary ends of the output signals to prevent short circuits. • Take into consideration the correct operating voltage and the maximum permissible output current (see data sheet). • Use a supply voltage source according to PELV. 5.2.2 CE conformity To achieve CE conformity, the installation must be carried out in an EMC-compliant manner:Use conti- nuously shielded cables for control lines. • Use continuously shielded cables for control lines. • The bus lines (port X2, X3, X4) must be routed separately from lines with a high interference level. • The safety circuit must be routed according to the standard as free as possible of capacitively coupled interference, separately from lines with a high interference level.

EN - page 16 (R60953.0009 3)

• In case of excessive capacitively coupled interference in the inspection circuit (see maintenance instructions), they must be correctly eliminated by the customer using power resistors or capacitors. • No users with a high interference level, such as frequency converters, solenoid valves, contactors, etc. should be connected to the voltage supply of the electronics (PSU Evaluation Unit, Ants LES01, control). Otherwise, a suitable voltage filter must be provided. 5.3 Electrical integration into the elevator system This chapter describes PSU01 in the overall system and explains the electrical integration into the lift system. When connecting via a trailing cable, the wiring must be performed as follows: EVAL connection No. Description Colour of the wire from the encoder X2 4 +24 VDC brown 5 GND white 6 CAN1 LOW yellow 7 CAN1 HIGH green 8 SLD shield The maximum distance to the Evaluation Unit may not exceed 100 m. This 100 m must be carried out as a twisted pair bus lines shielded with 0.5 mm2 and can also be routed in the trailing cable. In general, when installing buses, the installation technician must always make sure that he is not electrostatically charged to avoid damage to the device during installation. 5.4 Safety relay connection Electrical measures for integrating the safety circuits are displayed below. 5.4.1 Plug X5: Safety circuit output These terminals 18 and 19 are always closed during operation and open in the limit switch, time delay limit switch, inspection limit switch areas, in error mode (tape or PSU01 faulty) and in case of an UCM. In AC operation, the safety circuit must be protected with a 2 A fuse on the control side. In DC operation, it must be protected with a 1 A fuse. 5.4.2 Plug X6: Door zone relay outputs These terminals 22, 23, 24 are used as inputs for an external UCM Evaluation Unit. They can be used for evaluating the UCM zone, as they are to be considered as classical magnetic switches, which they replace.

EN - page 19 (R60953.0009 3)

english These contacts have a redundant design, but do not perform any auto-self test operations and may only be used as shaft information for a safety circuit according to EN81-20 5.6.7. The corresponding safety circuit must be able to detect a contact malfunction. Suitable measures must be take to detect whether the output contacts loses its redundant capabilities/prevent it altogether. These terminals 22 and 23 close with the shared potential on terminal 24 of the cabin is located in a door zone. 5.4.3 Plug X6: Relay contact – door zone display connection The emergency power via a 12 V battery is optional and is only used for displaying the door zones. If the voltage drops below 20 V, the PSU01 switches to a fault state, opens all relays and only the door zone +/- 70 mm is emulated on terminals 20 and 21, to facilitate an emergency rescue. This contact closes if the cabin is located in a door zone. 5.4.4 Plug X7: Door bypass Terminals 26 and 27 are used to bypass the door contacts and are open or closed according to the requests of the control. An external safety circuit for bypassing doors is expressly forbidden. 5.4.5 Plug X8 (optional): Inspection The inspection is to be wired so that, in normal operation, 24 VDC is applied at the inspection input (port X8) and that this voltage drops in inspection mode. This allows the PSU01 to recognize whether the elevator is in inspection mode or not. In order to prevent capacitive couplings, the general guidelines of this chapter, as well as the mainte- nance requirements (see below), must mandatorily be complied with.

6. Commissioning according to EN81-20 The requirements for commissioning the PSU01 for performing safety-relevant functions according to EN81/20 or 50 are described below. 6.1 Requirement To fulfil the safety functions, the PSU Evaluation Unit must be connected to the Ants LES01 position system, which meets the requirements according to EN81-20. The PSU Evaluation Unit may only be used in conjunction with the safe position reading system Ants LES01. If you have any further questions, please contact the manufacturer. The following measures must be taken prior to commissioning. Measure Description The hardware must be operated accor- ding to specifications The operating conditions are documented in the operating instructions and must always be observed. Installation of the PSU Evaluation Unit in an earthed or double insulated housing. The PSU Evaluation Unit must be firmly mounted in the cabinet or roof control box. Correct installation and commissioning of the Ants LES01 See the encoder operating instructions for this (R60200.0009) Correct integration of the door zones The door zones must be integrated as described in chap- ter 5.3. They can be used to detect the UCM zone for the integration of an additional external UCM Evaluation Unit (see point 2.1.7 Door zone relay). Correct integration of the safety circuit The safety circuit must be properly integrated at the location of the limit switches and be bypassable by the recovery operations. Control recovery is forbidden in case of an active UCM event and in inspection mode in the areas of the limit switches. Correctly integrated safety circuit pickup The safety circuit must be properly integrated at the loca- tion of the door contacts (see 5.3). Correctly integrated relay for tripping the UCM actuator The UCM trip unit must be correctly integrated according to the actuator specifications. Initial maintenance All recurring maintenance steps must be performed during the initial commissioning.

EN - page 21 (R60953.0009 3)

english 6.2 Overview of the parameterization After installation, the PSU01 must be parameterised for the first time. This is performed with a CANopen terminal or with a compatible control.

The following table shows the various states with respect to the safety circuit and to the door bypass safety circuit. Step Description Safety circuit Door bypass UCM 1 First commissioning Open Not possible inactive 2 Touch top limit switch Open Not possible inactive 3 Touch bottom limit switch Open Not possible inactive 4 Set time-delayed limit switches Closed Not possible inactive 4 Teach every stop Closed Not possible inactive 5 Actuate stops (by moving again to the stops) Closed Not possible inactive 6 Normal operation Closed Possible active As soon as all stops have been actuated, the PSU01 switches to the normal operating mode. More detailed information on the parameters can be found in the programming manual or in the manual of a compatible control or of the separately available programming unit. 6.3 Protected area parameterization As delivered, the protected area (reduced shaft head / shaft pit) is always active. This means that both inspection limit switches (top and bottom) are initially enabled (also wiring is required). The inspection limit switches can be enabled/disabled selectively in configuration mode (see parame- terizing manual). The possible options are described more in detail below: Option Description Protected area Limited to 0.6 m/s Bypassing for inspection 0 No inspection limit switches, inspection not wired None No Possible* 1 Inspection limit switches top and bottom, inspection wired Top and bottom Yes Not possible 2 Inspection limit switch only top, inspection wired Only top Yes Not possible 3 Inspection limit switch only bottom, inspection wired Only bottom Yes Not possible 4 No inspection limit switches, but inspection wired None Yes Not possible *Possible, as PSU01 receives no information about the inspection mode.

EN - page 23 (R60953.0009 3)

english The inspection limit switches are fixed at their position at a distance of 1.2 m from the top limit switch for the top inspection limit switch and 1.2 m from the bottom limit switch for the bottom inspection limit switch. The positions of the inspection limit switches cannot be modified. When the inspection is wired, the speed during inspection is limited to 0.6 l/s. If this speed is exceeded, the „overspeed“ function trips and the safety circuit opens until the elevator has stopped. 6.4 Teaching the top limit switch with reduced shaft head In the case of reduced shaft heads, where the top limit switch position cannot be reached on the car, proceed as follows: Position the elevator car exactly 1,500 mm underneath the required limit switch position. With a spe- cial instruction (see parameterizing manual), the PSU01 saves the position temporarily as a tempo- rary limit switch. E.g. if the installer is at position 10,000 mm, the top limit switch is assumed to be at 11,500 mm. It is not active yet, and the state does not change. If the elevator stops within 15 minutes at (or above) this calculated position, this calculated position (not the current position) is accepted as the top limit switch and the system switches automatically to he next state (see parameterizing manual). 6.5 Time-delayed limit switch parameterization At the beginning, both time-delayed limit switches are disabled until the teaching of the limit switch positions. As soon as the limit switches have been taught, the time-delayed limit switches are identical with these, but a travel faster than 1 m/s is pre- vented (by the opening of the safety circuit). This state remains active until the time-delayed limit switches have been explicitly taught in. For detailed information on the configuration of the time-delayed limit switches, please refer to the parameterizing manual.

7. During operation The following chapter describes the different operating modes. The following overview shows the relay states and the safety circuit status of the respective operating modes: Operating mode Safety circuit Door bypass 1 Teach-in mode (see chapter 4) open/closed open 2 Normal operation - Door bypass inactive - Door bypass active closed closed open closed 3 Error mode (locked mode) open open 7.1 Normal operation In normal operation, the PSU01 evaluates the positions received and fulfills all safety functions. 7.1.1 Door bypass function Door bypass is only active (activable) in the „Normal operation“ state. The bypass will only become active for a speed lower than 0.8 m/s and only within the requested stop (0.3 m/s for car level control). If inspection limit switches are active, or if at least the inspection is wired and the elevator is in inspection mode, bypass is inhibited. The following applications are possible with the door bypass of the PSU01, which will be requested by the control according to the required door bypass application (see parameterizing manual). 7.1.1.1 Door bypass for drive-in for early door opening The door bypass for drive-in for early door opening can only be activated outside of the requested stop or still during drive-in. It has no effect during standstill at the corresponding stop. The control must switch the active bypass off if it is not required. If, after a previous standstill, the elevator leaves the door zone with bypassed doors, this is detected as a UCM event.

EN - page 25 (R60953.0009 3)

english 7.1.1.2 Door bypass for car level control at a stop The door bypass can only be activated within a zone at a speed lower than 0.3 m/s for elevator car level control. The speed during car level control bypass is controlled at 0.3 m/s. Exceeding this speed will be detected by the PSU01 as a UCM event. The control must switch the active bypass off if it is not required. If, after a previous standstill, the elevator leaves the door zone with bypassed doors, this is detected as a UCM event. 7.1.1.3 Door bypass for fast start from a stop Fast start bypass can only be activated/is only valid in a zone of ± 2 cm with respect to the flush position of the selected station. It is de-activated automatically when leaving this zone and must not necessarily be reset. The control must make sure that the doors safety circuit is closed before leaving the reduced zone; otherwise the elevator stops (because of the open door contacts safety circuit). 7.1.2 Protection mode (inspection) If both inspection switches are disabled, the input signal is ignored. Wiring the inspection / protection area is not necessary. If the inspection is at least wired, the door bypass is inhibited during inspection and the speed is limited to 0.6 m/s. The control must represent suitably the state of the inspection limit switches (actuated/or not). The following features apply when an inspection limit switch is actuated. Speed is limited to 0.6 m/s during inspection. If this speed is exceeded, the PSU01 triggers the „over- speed“ function. This leads to the opening of the safety circuit until the standstill of the elevator. If an elevator is in inspection mode and an inspection limit switch plus maximum 10 cm hysteresis is overrun, the safety circuit opens and the info is sent to the control (see figure).

EN - page 26 (R60953.0009 3)

The control has then the responsibility to allow only travel instructions allowing to leave the inspection limit switch. If such a travel is requested by the control, the PSU01 sends the corresponding instruction (see parameterizing manual). The safety circuit closes again when the elevator stands still and upon request by the control, as long as the elevator is in the hysteresis zone. A „real“ leaving of the hysteresis zone or switching off the inspection mode re-activates this zone. A repeated entering in this zone triggers the same process again (see above). Overrunning the max. hysteresis zone of the inspection limit switch (see figure above) always leads to the opening of the safety circuit, which is no longer bypassed on request by the PSU01. When an inspection limit switch is actuated, recovery (bypassing) is forbidden and must be prevented by the circuitry. 7.1.3 UCM detection The UCM detection of the PSU01 is enabled as soon as the elevator car stops in a door zone. The PSU01 detects a UCM event in the following conditions: • the car level control speed exceeds 0.3 m/s • the elevator leaves the door zone with bypassed doors (e.g. due to a control fault) A detected UCM event permanently opens the safety circuit. A braking device compliant with EN81-20, 5.6.7 (redundant/diagnostic certified as a drive brake) is a prerequisite for this. If a UCM lock is active, recovery by the control is forbidden. External UCM units can be connected in “parallel”. The redundant door zone relays (port X6) constan- tly emit door zone information (comparable with fixed magnetic switches) to provide the information to an external UCM unit (plants working e.g. by engaging). Caution, since the UCM detection is permanently active in the PSU01, in the case of an UCM event, the PSU01 will also trip, and not only the external unit. Therefore both devices must be reset. The redundant door zone relays (port X6) are exclusively intended for an optional external UCM unit and may not be used for any other elevator safety function.

EN - page 27 (R60953.0009 3)

english 7.1.4 Overspeed In the case of overspeed, the PSU01 opens the safety circuit and therefore provides a pre-tripping with respect to the speed limiter. An adjustable rated speed prevents travels exceeding 115 %, upwards as well as downwards, by opening the safety circuit. The rated speed of the elevator can be set in mm/s (see parameterizing manual). As standard, this speed is set to 5 m/s and therefore ineffective. The rated speed can be modified continuously during standstill. This function is not part of the SIL3 certification and does not replace the measures prescribed in EN81. 7.1.5 Relay test A relay test is performed at least once a year. It starts during a standstill and opens all safety relays. A connected compatible control receives the information that the PSU01 is currently performing the relay test. Such control can trigger this test by resetting the PSU01 (see programming manual) at a moment chosen by it, provided the interval between tests does not exceed one year. The twelve-month counter starts over again after every self test. 7.2 Error mode In case of an error, the PSU01 switches to the error mode (PSU01 lock), and the safety circuit and door zone relays are immediately opened. The UCM relay opens with a slight delay (excepted in case of an UCM event) to prevent an unnecessary catch. The reaction time, including the opening time of the relays, is < 25 ms. Depending on the severity of the error, the PSU01 switches immediately to lock mode or it memori- zes this error. The errors are output and can be displayed by a compatible control or via a CANopen terminal. In the event of a PSU01 lock, an installer must read the error type on a CANopen monitor or a compatible control and remedy it. This may be an UCM event, but also a critical failure of the PSU Evaluation Unit (e.g. relay failure) or of the Ants LES01 (Sensor Safe). It is the instal- ler‘s responsibility to restart safely a locked plant. The reaction to errors is described in chapter 7.3 - 7.6, resetting an error is described in chapter 7.6. In any case, the error processing of the Ants LES01 (Sensor Safe) operating instructions is also to be taken into consideration.

EN - page 28 (R60953.0009 3)

7.3 LED flashing pattern The µP1 and µP2 LEDs flash as follows: Normal mode Flashing every second Error mode Quick flashing (5 times per second) 7.4 Communication The PSU01 continuously transmits data, in the event of an error with priority to the error. The PSU01 allows visualizing certain system parameters. Safety-relevant data can only be read. More detailed information on the parameters can be found in the programming manual. 7.5 Failures In case of failures, proceed as follows: 1. Check the proper installation of the Ants LES01 (Sensor Safe). 2. Check the proper installation of the Position Supervisor Unit. 3. Check the proper integration of both systems. 4. Check the correctness of all connections. Also take into consideration all instructions of the Ants LES01 operating instruction. In the event of a PSU01 lock, an installer must read the error code on a CANopen monitor (see programing in- structions) or a compatible control and remedy it. The following table shows an overview of possible failures: Failure Error code Measure Ants LES01 sends no position 2xx (correspond to encoder error: 1-17) See Ants LES01 (Sensor Safe) operating manual Hardware error 3, 11, 16, 17 Replace the PSU01 Internal PSU01 diagnostic error 4-7, 11, 16, 18 Replace the PSU01 Position value not plausible or not within time 10, 12 Test bus lines for possible failures Voltage drop 13 Check voltage supply, check power supply unit load Emergency power operation (see above) possible Power failure PSU01 restarts with a self test. No measure required. UCM module modified 14 PSU01 has reset to delivery condition. Restore the UCM option according to the basic configuration. Reconfigure the PSU01. The UCM option shall not be modified. Error in the safety circuit integration 15 Check whether the safety circuit has been correctly integrated.

english Ants LES01 in lock 1 Perform a standard-conforming restoration of the elevator plant and subsequently a reset (see below). No sensor (Ants LES01) found 30 Check the connection to the sensor Ants LES01. Relay test is being performed 101 Notification An (automatic) reset to factory settings is being performed 102 Notification No communication possible with PSU01 If the PSU01 cannot be reached via CANopen, check first all network parameters and wiring. If commu- nication is still not possible, replace the PSU01. 7.6 Resetting 7.6.1 Resetting an error An error that switched the PSU01 to the locked state (fast flashing of both status LEDs) can be reset as follows: 1. The plant is standing still. 2. Press the button at the PSU01 or request a reset at the compatible control. 3. Switch off the power supply of the PSU01 within 15 minutes. 4. Restore the power supply. The PSU01 then performs a self test and switches back to normal mode, provided no error has been detected. In the event of a PSU01 lock, an installer must read the error type on a CANopen monitor (see programming instructions) or a compatible con- trol and remedy it. This may be an UCM event, but also a critical failure of the PSU Evaluation Unit (e.g. relay failure) or of the Ants LES01. It is the installer‘s responsibility to restart safely a locked plant. All components must be in perfect operating condition. Please check also in the Ants LES01 operating manual which and how errors are to be remedied or processed. If they cannot be remedied with the allowed measures described abo- ve, the whole PSU01 must be replaced. 7.6.2 Resetting all stops All stops can be erased. The limit switch positions remain unchanged. Resetting is possible using a compatible control, the external programming unit or a CANopen terminal. To reset all stops, please refer to the programming manual.

EN - page 30 (R60953.0009 3)

After the reset of the stops, the UCM function must be checked again (incl. braking distance for overall system). 7.6.3 Resetting to factory setting The device can be reset to the delivery condition. All parameters saved until now, such as the limit switch positions, stop positions, door zone length, etc., are erased. Resetting is possible using a compatible control, the external programming unit or a CANopen terminal. To reset to factory setting, please refer to the programming manual. A comprehensive acceptance test must be performed after resetting to factory setting.

english 8. Checking the functions 8.1 Limit switch function To check the functional ability of the limit switch emulation, carry out a limit switch travel with the con- trol connected. To this purpose, consult the operating manual of the concerned control and proceed as specified in the manual. 8.2 Inspection limit switch function To check the functional ability of the inspection limit switch emulation, carry out an inspection limit switch travel with the control connected. To this purpose, consult the operating manual of the concer- ned control and proceed as specified in the manual. 8.3 Time-delayed limit switch function To check the functional ability of the time-delayed limit switch function, carry out a time-delayed limit switch travel with the control connected. To this purpose, consult the operating manual of the concer- ned control and proceed as specified in the manual. 8.4 UCM function To check the UCM function, carry out a UCM travel with the control connected. To this purpose, the control must leave the door zone with the doors bypassed. To this purpose, consult the operating manual of the concerned control and proceed as specified in the manual. 8.5 Door zone emulation function While traveling at a speed slower than 0.8 m/s check whether the door zones switch. To check the door zone emulation functions for an external UCM Evaluation Unit, proceed according to the instructions of the control and of the UCM Evaluation Unit. To this purpose, consult the operating manual of the concerned device that provides these functions and proceed as specified there. 8.6 Overspeed (optional) To check the overspeed (provided the rated speed has been set in the PSU01), carry out an over- speed travel with the control connected. To this purpose, consult the operating manual of the concer- ned control and proceed as specified in the manual. As soon as the speed of the elevator car exceeds the memorized normal speed by +15 %, PSU01 opens the safety circuit and the elevator stops.

9. Repairs, maintenance and disposal The Ants LES01 basically require minimal maintenance. If a component is defective, the complete PSU01 must be replaced. The PSU01 performs an annual relay test and thus checks that the safety relay and other components function correctly. This relay test can also be triggered by a compatible control (see programming manual). 9.1 Replacing components The PSU01 can also be replaced as an overall system (sensor and Evaluation Unit). 9.2 Maintenance The maintenance must be performed at least once a year. The following must be checked: 1. Check the PSU01 for visible damage and remove any contamination. 2. Check the function according to 8. In addition, check whether the door zones still switch (terminals 22-24) in compliance with all stops. 3. If the PSU01 must be wired wit the inspection, the following must be tested during normal elevator plant operation. In case a check yields a negative result, it must be assumed there is capacitively coupled interference in the inspection circuit. It must be eliminated by the customer. If the test still yields a negative result, it must be assumed that there is a defective PSU01 component, which must be replaced: a. the SK indicator lamp on the board must light up in normal operation. b. the SK indicator lamp on the board must be off in inspection mode. 4. The operating efficiency of the time-delayed limit switches must be checked. 5. For maintenance of the Ants LES01 (Sensor), refer to the operation manual (R60200.0009). 9.3 Traceability We recommend ensuring the traceability of products that carry out functional safety system tasks. This is critical for fast response times in the market. 9.4 Disposal Position Supervisor Unit (PSU01) is designed to ensure that it has a minimal negative impact on the environment. It does not emit any pollutants, does not contain any substances that are harmful to the environment and only consumes very little energy during operation. Unusable or irreparable devices as well as those which have reached the end of their product lifecycle must be disposed of in accordance with the respective applicable waste disposal regulations for electrical waste. The plastic housing can be disposed of as residual waste. 9.5 Order information and spare parts All components can only be reordered as a complete product. Components cannot be replaced. Please contact Kübler Group, Fritz Kübler GmbH for this.
