Safety instructions explained
Danger
This symbol warns against the risk of injury.
!
Please note
This symbol warns against the risk of material
losses and environmental pollution.
Target group
These operating instructions are intended for the user
of the photovoltaic system.
Appliance connection
■ The appliance may only be connected and commis-
sioned by authorised contractors.
■ Observe the specified electrical connection require-
ments.
■ Modifications to the existing installation may only be
carried out by authorised contractors.
Danger
Incorrectly executed work on the system can
lead to life-threatening accidents.
Work on electrical equipment must only be car-
ried out by a qualified electrician.
Work on the appliance
■ All settings and work on the appliance must be car-
ried out as specified in these operating instructions.
Work on the appliance may only be carried out by
authorised contractors.
■ Never open the appliance.
■ Never change or remove fitted accessories.
Danger
As soon as light hits the modules, electrical ter-
minals of PV modules that are not covered up
will carry voltage. Work on PV modules that are
not covered up can result in serious injuries.
Cover up the PV modules prior to commencing
any work on them.
In case of fire
Danger
Fire presents a risk of burns and explosion.
■ Switch the system OFF.
■ Use a tested fire extinguisher, class ABC.
Auxiliary components, spare and wearing parts
!
Please note
Components that were not tested with the sys-
tem may cause system damage, or may affect
its functions.
Have all installation or replacement work carried
out exclusively by qualified contractors.
Safety instructions
For your safety
5547760
PV modules are designed to be stationary power gen-
erators for photovoltaic systems.
Any other use is considered inappropriate.
Incorrect use results in a risk to life and health of the
user or third parties. Damage to the appliance and
photovoltaic system or other material assets may
result.
The manufacturer/supplier accepts no liability for any
such damage. The user alone bears the risk.
Observation of technical documentation, such as the
"Vitovolt 300 installation information" and "Vitovolt 300
installation and service instructions" are also part of
intended use.

"technical description".
Insurance
Viessmann photovoltaic modules are tested to
DIN EN 61215 and DIN EN 61730 for impact resist-
ance, including, amongst others, against hailstones.
Nevertheless, we would recommend including the pho-
tovoltaic modules in the building insurance as protec-
tion against extreme weather conditions. Damage due
to these conditions is excluded from our warranty.
Operation
Should your photovoltaic system fail to operate cor-
rectly, please notify your local contractor. Never carry
out any work on the system yourself.
In connection with any work on the roof by roofing con-
tractors, flue gas inspectors or aerial installers, please
inform such contractors of the following:
■ Never step on photovoltaic modules or place any
objects onto them.
■ Never touch or mechanically stress photovoltaic
modules, mounting frames, connecting cables and
plug-in connections.
■ Never undo plug-in connections.
■ Never cut through connecting cables.
Care, inspection and maintenance
Please note the service instructions supplied in
connection with cleaning and maintenance work.
■ Contamination on the front glass panes of the photo-
voltaic modules reduces the light ingress and conse-
quently the output. In the case of severe contamina-
tion we recommend having the photovoltaic modules
cleaned by a qualified specialist.
■ Have the photovoltaic system maintained regularly in
order to safeguard trouble-free, energy efficient and
environmentally responsible operation. For this, it is
recommended that you take out an inspection and
maintenance contract with your local contractor.
