DXZC-AC Quick Start Guide v1.0 February 2017

QS-DXZC-AC01 DXZC-AC zero client Quick Start Guide The DXZC-AC is a PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) zero client with an integral smart card reader. It is based on the TERA2 chipset and supports two heads of video at the desktop. The DXZC-AC has a single RJ45 network port . The DXZC-AMC has been evaluated by the CESG Commercial Product Assurance Scheme and approved for use at foundation grade for Remote Desktop v1.0. Smart card authentication The DXZC-AC integral card reader supports CAC and SIPRNet tokens, ISO 7816 and EMV 2000 Level 1, and is compatible with 5v, 3v and 1.8v smart cards. Important! Users must always insert smart cards into the DXZC-AC smart card reader with the integrated circuit chip (ICC) facing down. Before you start You must first configure a remote computer and PCoIP host, ready for connection to the DXZC-AC. The remote computer must be powered and connected to the appropriate network. You will need the IP address of the PCoIP host. Set up the DXZC-AC Using the diagrams below as a guide, connect the DXZC-AC as follows: 1. Connect at least one compatible monitor to the DXZC-AC, starting at Video 1 port. 2. Connect a keyboard and mouse to the front panel USB ports. 3. Connect audio devices, if required. 4. Connect the RJ45 network cable. 5. Connect the DXZC-AC PSU. Use only the PSU supplied with this DXZC-AC. 6. Power up the DXZC-AC, monitor and the remote workstation. POWER / MENU switch (Item 4 in Figure 1) A short button press turns on the unit. When the unit is on: ■ and in a PCoIP session, a short button press displays the On Screen Display (OSD) configuration menu; ■ and not in a PCoIP session, a short button press tries to establish a PCoIP connection; ■ a long button press turns off the unit. Available kits Part number DXZC-AC (one RJ45 socket) with IEC power lead and Power Supply Unit (PSU). KT-DXZC-3C02 Establish a PCoIP connection After setting up your DXZC-AC, you must establish a PCoIP session to connect the DXZC-AC to a remote PCoIP host or virtual desktop. The connection methods are summarized below. ■ Direct connections: To connect a DXZC-AC directly to a specific PCoIP host card, use the Direct to Host session connection type and provide the IP address (or DNS name) for the PCoIP host. Direct connections are not practical for very large PCoIP deployments. ■ SLP Discovery: If your DXZC-AC and PCoIP host reside on the same subnet, you can use the Direct to Host + SLP session connection type to discover available PCoIP hosts on the subnet. The OSD lists the first 10 hosts discovered. Choose the one you want to connect to. ■ Use a connection broker: A connection broker is a third party application that dynamically assigns DXZC-AC zero clients to remote workstations (or virtual desktops) based on the identity of the end-user. Use the Connection Management Interface session connection type on both the DXZC-AC and PCoIP host. You will need to provide the IP address (or DNS name) of the connection broker. 1 Insert smart card into reader with integrated circuit chip facing down. 2 Headset. 3 USB keyboard and mouse. 4 Power/Menu switch. 5 Device LED. 6 PCoIP LED. 7 Network connection to remote PCoIP host or virtual desktop. 8 Network status LEDs. 9 USB device. 10 Speakers. 11 DisplayPort connections to monitors. 12 PSU.
