Preparing the drying cycle

Preparing your garments for drying o For optimum drying performance, sort the laundry according to fabric type, drying programme and the wash care symbol that is printed on the garment’s wash care label. o Before drying, thoroughly spin the laundry in a washing machine if possible to reduce the drying time and save energy. o Check all pockets on a garment to make sure that they are empty. o Remove any detachable metal items (badges, paperclips, safety pins etc). o Zips should be closed, duvet covers and pillow cases should be buttoned up and any loose straps should be tied up. This will help to prevent other garments from getting damaged during the drying cycle. o Do not dry the clothes for longer than necessary to avoid creases or shrinkage. o DO NOT dry items containing rubber or similar elastic materials, raincoats, bicycle covers or feather products. o DO NOT dry clothes which have been dry-cleaned. o In order to avoid the danger of fire caused by excessive drying, DO NOT use the appliance to dry items such as cushions or quilts as these items accumulate heat. o Ensure the lint filter is emptied and cleaned after each use to avoid the extension of drying time and energy use.

o Do not exceed the maximum load capacity or the machine will

fail to dry the clothes efficiently. You should refer to the program table for the maximum load size for each program and the weight references below before starting a cycle. Please note that all weights are approximate. Program table Program MAX load Temperature Clothing type Cool down period Approx Drying time 3.0 kg Full heating 3.0 kg Half heating Easy to dry items that don’t need long drying times. 1 hr dry 2.0 kg Air dry Fine fabrics that don’t need a lot of heat to dry. 10 mins 60 mins 4.0- 5.0 kg Full heating Light dry 4.0 kg Half heating Chemical fibre clothes and small sized clothes. 10 mins 100 mins 4.0- 5.0 kg Full heating Middle dry 4.0 kg Half heating Cotton weaving and jeans. 10 mins 130 mins 4.0- 5.0 kg Full heating Extra dry 4.0 kg Half heating Bed sheets, cotton clothing and jeans. 10 mins 170 mins o When the weight of the laundry to be dried is less than 0.5 kg, select a 1 hr dry and full heating cycle. 12

Selecting a drying programme

o Load the clothes to be dried into the tumble dryer drum and close the door. o Press the power button (1) to turn the machine on. If no programme is selected within 10 minutes of turning the machine on, it will turn off again automatically. o Use the programme selection button (3) to scroll through the drying programmes. You can choose from 1 hr, light dry, middle dry and extra dry cycles. The relevant LED indicator will light above the button to show your selection. o You can then use the heat selection button (4) to choose the most suitable temperature for the clothes you want to dry. You can select from airing, half and full heats. The relevant LED indicator will light above the button to show your selection. o If you wish to activate the crease guard feature for the drying program, press the crease guard option button (5). It is recommended to use this function if you are drying expensive or easily creased clothes. The LED indicator will light above the button to show that the function has been activated. o Press the START/PAUSE button (2) once to begin the drying programme. If you press this button during the cycle it will pause the programme to allow you to change the programme or add/remove clothes. o IMPORTANT: When adding or removing clothes during a paused drying programme, be careful as the drum interior and laundry items may still be hot from the drying process. o At the end of the drying programme, a buzzer will sound to prompt you to remove the laundry from the drum. You should then unplug the machine before cleaning the lint filter. Quick start o After pressing the power button (1) to turn the tumble dryer on, you can immediately press the START/PAUSE button (2) to automatically select a middle dry programme with full heat. 13

Child safety lock

o The tumble dryer features a child safety lock which will prevent any accidental or unauthorized pressing of buttons by other persons such as children. o The safety lock can be activated by pressing the program selection button (3) and the heat selection button (4) simultaneously for a few seconds. The LED lock indicator will light on the display to show that all the buttons have been disabled. o Repeat this process to deactivate the safety lock. The LED lock indicator will go off and the buttons will be operable again. Maintenance and cleaning IMPORTANT: The appliance should be disconnected from the power supply and allowed to cool before commencing any cleaning process. Control panel and machine cabinet. IMPORTANT: Do not use any abrasive cleaner or household polish on either the control panel or operating parts. o Wipe over the control panel and the external surface of the machine using a brand new damp cloth with warm water. 14

The lint filter

o The fluff and debris which accumulates on the filter will block the air circulation which will cause the drying time and energy consumption to increase. Therefore the lint filter should be cleaned after each use. o To remove the filter, open the tumble dryer door and locate the filter at the base of the porthole opening. Squeeze the sides and pull the filter upwards to take it out. o Clean the lint filter by wiping off the scrap threads and fluff which have accumulated on it. o Reinstall the filter. o DO NOT allow lint to build up around the dryer. o A torn or damaged filter must be replaced immediately. o Overloading laundry can increase lint build up because the air flow is reduced. o The interior of the dryer should be cleaned of any accumulated lint at regular intervals. This must be done by a qualified person for electrical safety. o If you change the mounting of the dryer from upright to inverted or visa versa, the dryer must be cleaned internally by a serviceman. o IMPORTANT: NEVER operate the tumble dryer without the lint filter in place. The tumble dryer drum The drum of your tumble dryer is constructed from stainless steel. However if there are objects that can rust placed inside the drum, then it is possible for the drum to become stained. IMPORTANT: Do not use a descaling agent, iron/steel wool or scouring agents to clean the drum of your appliance. o Remove any rust stains on the drum with an appropriate stainless steel cleaning agent. 15

o You should regularly check to see if any deposits have formed,

or there are any foreign bodies inside or underneath the rubber door gasket. This sits inside the opening of the porthole door. You should make sure that you have everything in place that is necessary for the correct installation. o Do not place or store your tumble dryer in a location where the ambient temperature could fall below 0°C, otherwise the water used in it could freeze up. o Never place or store laundry products on top of the appliance. Wall hanging installation o You will need the supplied installation components shown below in order to complete the installation. o Before commencing the installation process you will need to reverse the control panel so that it is readable once the appliance is installed the other way up. o You are able to fix the alternative label, supplied with the appliance, to the control panel to replace the one already on it. 16

o For the left and right hooks, a total of 6 expansion pipes need to

be fixed. o Hang the dryer onto the hooks to complete the installation. If the appliance is installed on an uneven or suspended floor, it could cause excessive noise and severe vibration, which may result in the malfunction of the appliance. o You should also level off the tumble dryer, using the adjustable feet on the base of the appliance. o If the machine is situation on a carpeted floor please adjust the feet in order to allow air to circulate freely.

o IMPORTANT: The electrical socket must still be accessible

once the appliance is installed. o Consult the rating plate, located on the machine BEFORE making the electrical connections. Ensure that the voltage reaching the plug is the same as that on the rating plate. o DO NOT REMOVE THE RATING PLATE AS THE INFORMATION ON IT IS IMPORTANT. o The moulded plug that is supplied with the appliance must be placed into an earthed and insulated socket. o Broken or damaged power leads must only be replaced by a suitably qualified person. A power lead of a similar type must be used in replacement. o IMPORTANT: We do not recommend that this appliance is connected to an extension lead. Before first use maintenance cycle o When your tumble dryer has been correctly installed, we recommend that you perform a maintenance drying cycle, with only clean rags being placed inside of the drum. o This will check that all aspects of the installation are correct; it will also remove any deposits that may have been left on the drum by the manufacturing process. o Select a 1 hr drying programme with full heat. o After the programme has finished, please follow the Maintenance and Cleaning instructions to clean the appliance and lint filter.
