Figure 4-25 illustrates current flow for a forward command from the processor board. The CMFWD

signal is applied through the driver circuits to turn on Q4. Q4 will remain on as long as the processor is commanding forward motion. CMFWD will prevent Q3, Q2 from conducting. (Refer to Figure 4-24.) The operation of the carriage motor circuit can be analyzed using the conduction paths illustrated in Figure 4-25 for forward motion. Conduction in transistor Ql is controlled by three signals: CMFWD, SCON, and ILOW. CMFWD and SCON are generated by the processor board and are assumed to be true for this ...

NOTE: Underl ined characters represent ASC II code. ASCII Code Command Characters Printer Action Taken Received Carriage CR This command causes data, if any, in the line buffer to be printed. Return Because of the bidirectional printing capability of the printer, a carriage retu rn is not executed. I nstead, the carriage stops upon completion of printing a tine. When the next line is received, the carriage is positioned to print forward or backward, whichever re- quires the least carriage movement. Delete DEL This command clears the line buffer.
