GPS Essentials (Iridium Extreme Only) The Iridium Extreme satellite phone has built-in GPS functionality and a dedicated SOS button so you can easily share your location and notify specifed contacts in the event of an emergency. Important: You must confgure your Iridium Extreme to determine what happens when you press the Emergency button. Your options and instructions on how to confgure the Emergency button are on the previous page. Please read those instructions carefully. Full instructions regarding the sophisticated GPS features of the Iridium Extreme phone are available in the Iridium Extreme User Guide. As a minimum you should set up the following GPS and Emergency Options to your specifc requirements: 1) To set your GPS Settings from the main menu, select Setup > Location Options 2) By default, GPS is disabled. To enable GPS, select GPS Options > GPS On/Of > Enabled 3) Follow the instructions on the previous page to set your Emergency settings. After the emergency settings have been entered, when the Emergency button is pressed, a message and/or call will be initiated and your location will be sent every 5 minutes to your specifed emergency message recipient. 4) To view your current GPS location, press the side Convenience Key (initial update can take up to 2 minutes). You will be provided with the option to “Share” your location by attaching your location to a New SMS Message or a pre-confgured Quick GPS list. To program a Quick GPS list select Message Options > Quick GPS List. 5) When you send your location by SMS, the message will be sent with a link to iridium.com that will display your location on a map. 6) You can choose to send your location on a regular update schedule. To confgure a regular update schedule select Message Options > Regular Updates. First program the message recipient by selecting ‘Update Recipient’ then program the message schedule by selecting ‘Update Frequency.’ Once the Update Frequency is set, your location will be sent automatically to your programmed recipient by SMS at the defned frequency. Important: Each SMS sent will be charged as per your Service Plan. 7) Your phone provides the ability to lock your GPS settings to maintain your desired confguration. To lock your GPS settings select GPS Options > GPS Settings Lock. The default GPS settings lock code is 3333 and can be changed by selecting Menu > Security > Change PIN > GPS Settings Lock. Important: Your Pivotel Iridium service does not support Iridium email. You should only add phone numbers as recipients by SMS for Quick GPS, Emergency Recipients and phone book entries. You can send email using Pivotel’s SMS to email service as shown on on the other side of this guide. 14: GPS & Location Based Services Iridium Extreme™ User Manual 161 GPS and Location-Based Services The Iridium Extreme™ GPS and Location-Based Service features allow you to view, send, or restrict your location information. There are four main components to setup and use these features: • Location Options Setup Menu: located in the Iridium Extreme™ main menu in the setup section, Location Options Options is where you customize your GPS, emergency, message, and format options. • Programmable SOS button: this red button is located on the top of the phone, under a protective cover. By removing the cover and and pressing the red button you can send your location information to your designated contact in the event of an emergency. • Location Convenience Key: located on the right side of the phone, you can to press this key to view your location and share it via SMS to either a pre-programmed “Quick GPS” contacts or a new message contact. • Online portal integration with 3rd party providers: enables the transmission of the phone’s location information on a scheduled interval via short-burst data (SBD) to 3rd party portal providers for online tracking Note: Standard usage fees apply for sharing location via messaging or placing a phone call via the programmable SOS button. Location Options Setup Menu The Location Options Setup Menu enables you to set up the following options: • GPS Options: Enable/disable GPS on your handset; determine how frequently the GPS is updated when enabled; and lock your GPS settings. • Emergency Options: Set up Emergency Recipients; determine Emergency Actions; configure Emergency settings; and enter/cancel Emergency Mode. • Message Options: Set up the recipient and frequency of your auto GPS location update message. • Format: Configure the format of GPS location information. • Current Location: View and update your current GPS location.

Iridium Extreme Quick Start Guide Getting Started: 1. The Iridium Extreme device needs a clear line of sight to the sky with no obstructions. You should go outside under the sky for your phone to receive the signals. 2. Fully extend the antenna upwards. 3. To turn on your phone, press and hold down the power button on top until the phone beeps once and turns on. 4. The phone will search for a signal. This may take a few minutes.
