Product liability In compliance with the liability of the manufacturer for his products as defined in the German "Product Liability Act", compliance with the information contained in this brochure (product information and intended use, misuse, product performance, product maintenance, obligations to provide information and instructions) must be en- sured. Failure to comply releases the manufacturer from their statutory liability. 1 Safety notices To ensure personal safety, it is important to follow these safety instructions. These instructions must be kept. 1.1 Intended use The hook bolt lock Lock M is only suitable for use àà in dry rooms, àà in automatic door systems for horizontal door leaves, àà in entrances and interior areas of pedestrian traffic in commercial plants and public areas. The hook bolt lock Lock M must not be used on fire and smoke protection doors. 1.2 Safety notices àà The mandatory installation, maintenance and repair work must be performed by properly trained personnel authorised by GEZE. àà The country-specific laws and regulations are to be observed during safety-related tests. àà If unauthorised changes are made to the system, GEZE cannot be held liable in any way whatsoever for any resulting damage, and the approval for use in escape and rescue routes ceases. àà GEZE makes no guarantee for combinations with third-party products. àà Furthermore, only original GEZE parts may be used for repair and maintenance work. àà The connection to the mains voltage must be made by a professional electrician. Perform the power connec- tion and equipment earth conductor test in accordance with VDE 0100 Part 610. àà Use an on-site 10-A overload cut-out as the line-side disconnecting device. àà In compliance with Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), a risk analysis must be performed and the door system identified in accordance with CE Marking Directive 93/68/EEC before the door system is commissioned. àà Observe the current status of directives, standards and country-specific regulations, especially: àà DIN 18650 “Automatic door systems – product requirements and test methods” and EN 16005 “Power-operated pedestrian doorsets – safety in use – requirements and test methods” àà VDE 0100, Part 610 "Installing Electrical Power Systems with Nominal Voltages up to 1000 V" àà Accident-prevention regulations, especially BGV A1 "General regulations" and BGV A2 "Electrical systems and equipment" àà DIN EN 60335-2-103 "Household and similar electrical appliances; Particular requirements for drives for gates, doors and windows"

4 Safety notices 1.3 Safety conscious working àà Secure workplace against unauthorised entry. àà Watch swivelling range of long system parts. àà Never carry out work with a high safety risk (e.g. installing the drive, cover or door leaf) while alone. àà Secure the cover/drive panels against falling. àà Only use the cables prescribed in the cable plan provided. Lay shields in compliance with the wiring diagram. àà Secure loose, internal drive cables with cable ties. àà Before working on the electrical system: àà Disconnect the drive from the 230 V mains and check to ensure that it is not supplied with power. àà Disconnect the control unit from the 24 V rechargeable battery. àà When an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is used, the system will still be under voltage even when disconnected from the mains. àà Always use insulated wire-end ferrules for wire cores. àà Attach safety stickers to glass leaves. àà Danger of injury with opened drive. Hair, clothing, cables, etc. can be drawn in by rotating parts. àà Danger of injury caused by unsecured crushing, impact, drawing-in or shearing spots. àà Danger of injury due to broken glass! àà Danger of injury due to sharp edges in the drive. àà Danger of injury during installation through freely moving parts. 1.4 Inspection of the installed system Measures for protection and prevention of pinching, impact, shearing or drawing-in spots: àà Check the function of safety sensors and movement detectors. àà Check protective earth connection to all metal parts that can be touched. àà Perform a safety analysis (risk analysis). 1.5 Environmentally conscious working àà When disposing of the door system, separate the different materials and have them recycled. àà Do not dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries with household waste. àà Comply with the statutory regulations when disposing of the door system and the batteries/rechargeable batteries.

6 Installation 3 Installation Before the work described below is done, the moving leaves must be adjusted properly. 3.1 Installing hook bolt lock Lock M in the main closing edge 3.1.1 Installing hook bolt lock Lock M in the main closing edge, without pushing rosette     * Blind rivet nut M5 flat head, caulk steel. X X Heed the installation and care instructions from the respective manufacturer of the lock cylinder used. X X The lock cylinder must be provided on site. M5 x 30 / SW3 3 Nm M5 x 35 / SW3 3 Nm

7 Installation 3.1.2 Installing hook bolt lock Lock M in the main closing edge, with pushing rosette     * Blind rivet nut M5 flat head, caulk steel. X X Heed the installation and care instructions from the respective manufacturer of the lock cylinder used. X X The lock cylinder must be provided on site. M5 x 35 / SW3 3 Nm M5 x 30 / SW3 3 Nm

8 Installation 3.2 Installing the strike plate in the main closing edge or post profile X X Screw the M5 screw (2) into the strike plate (1). X X Thread the strike plate (1) with M5 screw into the main closing edge of the moving leaf (2- leaf) or post profile (1-leaf). X X Screw in two screws with countersunk head (3) and tighten. X X Undo the screw (2) again.     M5 x 16 / SW3 3 Nm

9 Installation 3.3 Post installation, 1-leaf 3.3.1 1-leaf system at a wall corner with or without side part 1-leaf, right-closing The illustrations below show the version 1-leaf right-closing. Implementation of the 1-leaf left-closing version is reversed accordingly. X X Adjust the position of the door leaf (1). Heed safe distances to the light barrier profile/side part and floor. X X Use 2 screws (3) to fix the square post (2) provisionally at the top and bottom.

10 Installation X X Use 4 screws (5) to screw the side screen profile (4) provisionally to the square post. X X Adjust the position of the side screen profile (4) and square post (2) in relation to the door leaf, underlay to- wards the wall if necessary. The fixing and underlay material must be provided on site. X X Unscrew the side screen profile (4). X X Mount the square post (2) with screws (3) on the wall. X X Mount the side screen profile (4) with screws (5) on the square post (2). X X Adjust the vertical position in relation to the door leaf. X X Adjust the position of the L-angle (6) as cover blind and mark drill holes. X X Drill the holes with a Ø 2.75 mm drill. X X Screw to the side screen profile (4) using screws (7).

11 Installation Adjusting the height in relation to the door leaf X X Adjust the position of the lower edge of the side screen profile post to 4 mm below the side screen profile leaf (8) 3.3.2 1-leaf system in front of a continuous wall, right- or left-closing X X Adjust the position of the door leaf (1). Heed safe distances to the light barrier profile/side part and floor. X X Adjust the position of the side screen profile (2) and wall rail (3) in relation to the door leaf (1) and mark on the wall. 4 mm

12 Installation X X Mount the wall profile (3) with screws (4) on the wall, underlay if necessary. X X Screw the side screen profile (2) with screws (5) through the wall profile (3) on the wall.

13 Service and maintenance Adjusting the height in relation to the door leaf X X Adjust the position of the lower edge of the side screen profile post (2) to 4 mm below the side screen profile leaf (6)   4 Service and maintenance The following mandatory maintenance work must be carried out at least once a year by properly trained personnel. If there is a display programme switch, the service display lights up or flashes in the display. X X Service and maintenance should then be carried out promptly.
